USA/Canada Delivery Thread

I put down my deposit in Aug. 2023 and my VIN is 24XX and it arrived on the 3/26 boat (still waiting for dealership arrival). I think it's just the nature of a low-volume car manufacturer. At least now, with Geely's money, they can afford to pre-build the cars ahead of time while waiting to sort out CARB certification and seat sensor issues. It could be worse, they can be waiting to build US-market cars until all the regulatory issues are resolved.
My VIN is xxxx. So it seems that 4-8 weeks, likely closer to 6 weeks is a reasonable time for delivery and prep?

I will report back when my car arrived at Galpin. Like I said in an earlier post, they received a car that arrived on the same boat (with a later VIN) 10 days ago.

I think the delivery timing will be more predictable as they finished shipping pre-built cars and work through the logistical nightmare caused by the Baltimore port bridge collapse. The largest shipment of Emria (200+) arrived at US (shipped out after CARB certification) just after the bridge collapse, requiring diverting to ship to NJ. The cars are then trucked to Baltimore for processing (both paperwork and physical preparation) before delivery to dealers. I am in the import business, and just thinking about the extra steps involved gives me a migraine.

P.s. There were thousands of VW group vehicles (Audi, Porsche and VW) stuck at US ports earlier this year because they contain one single chip made by slave labor in a VW factory in China (according to news report) and had to be swapped out before any of the cars can be rleased for delivery.

...nearly 3 years later, the day finally came. Special thanks to Ray and company at Lotus of North Jersey for making the experience incredible. 6 hours into ownership, and my fingers are crossed 🤞 that no serious issues arise, but so far this car is incredible. The feel and the sound... combined with the comfort... I can finally say it was worth the wait. I'm looking forward to my morning comute.

Congrats! She's a beauty. Looks like Lotus of North Jersey is getting the cars into customers' hands. Mine just arrived on 5/6 and I'll be taking delivery next week. The drive back to Maryland is going to (fingers crossed) be epic.

I just dropped of my car at the Lotus of NJ service to get the resistor pack replaced and address a check engine light (the charcoal canister is bad). They have quite a few cars in the show room, and upstairs at the Smythe Volvo next door.

Were you having AC issues where they needed to address the resistor pack or was it replaced as a precaution?

My dealer (Eurocar in So Cal) just informed me this morning that as of yesterday my car is on the water and gave me my VIN. And yep, I know to take that with a grain of salt from many members' experiences, but it's the first news I've had in awhile so I'll take it and celebrate, even if just for a few seconds! I'm definitely in the tail end of VINs (2754), and am really hating to see a lot of earlier depositors still not getting their cars. My deposit was Sept 2022, so I'm not exactly a newbie but definitely not a "senior" member of this club. But still hoping to see mine early in the summer rather than later. Boat spotters, @Nova and others, any info on ships that left the UK on 5/7 that my VIN may be on?
I think our cars are on the same boat. Mine is 2871.

I've seen recent posts where dealers are delivering Emiras arriving on boats only a month ago. Congrats! Wish I were in the same "boat" ;)

I got some intel regarding my dealer, Gator, recently, so thought I'd share it. They have supposedly delivered about 30 Emiras. They initially had about 30 FE 1.0 allocations. I was at 55th position overall, so was slotted for an FE 2.0. My position has probably moved up due to folks dropping, so let's say I'm in 50th position now...that's just a guess.

Doing a little math, based on the rate they are delivering cars, I'm probably looking at Fourth of July to see mine. For reference, it was on the 12/29/2023 boat.

Keep posting those delivery pics...I love to see them!

Your car is already at the dealer?

Picked up my car the other day. Have only driven it 20 miles in rush hour traffic, but it feels really special. Love the digital tachometer, and love how you're sitting practically at the nose of the car. Looks more beautiful in person and makes my other cars look dull in comparison.

Congrats! But I think you are wrong that it makes your other cars look dull. Great collection of true driver's cars.

And awesome garage as well!

I'm ready to share my story:

I've been a lifelong Honda junky, I have been dedicated to the Civic Type R platform since 2017, and owned several Civic Si's throughout the years, and had only driven a Honda going back to the mid-2000's. I also bought my wife an Acura RDX A Spec a few years ago, which has been rock solid and we continue to enjoy. I even owned one of the Type R Limited Edition units from the 2021 production year, the final year of the 10th generation platform, one of only 600 they made for the USA. My Type R Limited Edition was something I planned on keeping for many years, if not decades.

That all changed when I saw the Emira in person in January, when I visited my local Lotus dealer in Jacksonville FL. I immediately knew I had to have one, even if it meant not keeping my Type R Limited Edition. On the spot, I asked the sales rep to allow me to place a refundable deposit to get in line on the order list. The sales rep in Jacksonville informed me two terrible pieces of information - first, I was about 12 months away from having the chance to order (not to mention further wait time after ordering), and my deposit would be non-refundable. So, I began calling around the state of FL and ultimately landed with Paulo at Orlando Lotus (great guy, great dealership). Not only was my reservation in line refundable, but their estimated wait was more like 6 months. So in late February, I sold my Type R Limited Edition to a local Honda dealer, and placed a refundable deposit with Paulo at Orlando Lotus.

On Saturday April 27th, I casually checked Emira inventory on Autotrader, and while there is a lot of dealer-baiting showing available inventory where there is not, Lamborghini/Lotus Charlotte showed an available unit. I called and met Daniel, he told me they had a FE 1.0 sport suspension Seneca Blue w/Black Pack and tan leather interior available, for $98k MSRP. The original ordering customer backed out due to a disagreement on their trade in. I couldn't believe what I was hearing - I immediately jumped on it.

6 days later, the car showed up in a closed transport carrier (change video settings to 4k for best quality)

And yesterday, I picked it up from PPF and G Techniq ceramic coating:

I am absolutely blown away by the car. Its design is so unique and so damn good looking, I just walk out to my garage to sit and look at it. My neighbors have dropped by multiple times just to have a second and third look. Sitting at red lights, people are starring with their jaw dropped. The sounds of the car, the supercharger, the exhaust note, the intake, its completely intoxicating. The little things in this car are super nice too - auto folding mirrors, wireless Carplay, integrated Homelink, the locking chime, USB connectivity in the rearview mirror for easy setup dash cam...I love everything about it. The Emira will age and hold its value very well IMO, it is just so unique and so well done.

I will conclude with one small issue that I've had. At 70 miles, CEL came up for P0456 EVAP system "very small leak detected". The CEL has gone away and come back on its own. I'm still on my first tank of gas. Based on some comments I've read here and on the Lotus USA owner Facebook group, I'm not too concerned about it.

For those waiting to take delivery, I promise you it's worth the wait!
