USA/Canada Delivery Thread

Bailing... Cancelling your order. I don't get if someone believed Lotus is a joke, why commit and hand them your money? Actions are louder than words.
Yes but some of us have excess of 10k in the form of a NON REFUNDABLE deposit on the line. Thats not chump change to be able to bail on. Remember, we were told our FE's would be here in September or October, maybe November, I cant remember anymore.

But you knew that when paid your deposit, correct? I know I did. It was a risk I knew I was taking. I know if things go sour, I only have myself to blame.
I must be a very mediocre customer. But after owning an Elise for 5y, I think I just expected more of the same from Lotus and their dealer network. My goal is to get my hands on a unique car again and live with the challenges. I would certainly not daily one and think of Lotus as a regular manufacturer, regardless of whatever marketing they use to the contrary. And Lotus bankruptcy or financial challenges are my base case scenario.

Many people are currently waiting for exactly that from Lotus, more of the same. 🤣

Just to add my opinion on the Lotus failing issue... I think Geely would/will step in fairly quickly. Come this spring if they are not hitting weekly targets, heads will start to roll and I can see a sweeping change in management. The parent company will want to convert the order bank into profits. At this rate it will never happen. My thoughts is they will give the current situation until q1 2023 to be rectified or seriously improved. If not, I will guess some major shake ups will be happening.

That's a good point, but I think Geely may not be well positioned to take over since the culture is going to take a huge hit if Geely sub in their own management.

Maybe we should start reaching out to Geely instead of Lotus customer service.

I think that has already happened, that’s why we are seeing these issues.

They have been watching this debacle going for 2 years now, I am sure they have been preparing and taking notes where the improvements are needed. Like any good take over, sit back and watch, look for the shortfalls, create a plan for improvement, then implement. Takes time, but ultimately should be effective.

Plenty of Evora 400’s as daily drivers. That V6 is easily 100k+ with no problem

Hello my fellow US Emira FE buyers. Did you guys get any confirmation email from Lotus directly after submitting your order? Just curious.

Thanks!

GTA is the third biggest metro area in North America. Pfaff Porsche I believe is in the top 3 Porsche dealerships in North America as well. With that said we never really know if they are exaggerating their number of deposits or not. One thing I find curious is that based on deposit numbers no one from Toronto has come on her and complained they did not get a call for a test drive. Which based on 170 deposits they were only able to offer test drives to half the depositors. You can see a few of the US guys came on here to complain how they weren't called. The UK guys are having a tough time booking slots. So you would think we would hear of someone not getting seat time in Toronto? My opinion is the deposits may not be as high as we think. Or other GTA depositors don't really care. Also the fact he said only 1 person dropped out seems unrealistic.
I placed a $5k order/deposit on Oct 3 2022 with Toronto Dealership. I live close to Windsor Ontario in Lakeshore. I didn't receive a call for a test drive. I did call the dealership and inquire about it. Being so late with deposit I understood I wouldn't get a chance to test drive anyways. I'd be happy just to see it in person for 5mins.
Just curious if they have access to a demo car yet. I'd take the 4hr drive up to come see it.
The other dealership in Oakville required $2500 deposit for some reason.
I just have a copy bill of sale with deposit. I haven't been contacted by anyone yet.
I'm only 2.5 months in for waiting so far. At what approx. point did you guys get to select options etc. And any other steps?

Thanks for any help.

My Spec: Seneca Blue , black top roof and bottom, V6, Manual ,White/Grey leather, Leather Steering Wheel with Yellow 12'oclock if possible , Yellow Stitching, Yellow Brakes, Diamond Cut Wheels, Privacy Glass sides and Engine, purchase car cover from parts as well.

FYI - I am deposit holder #54 at Gentry (Toronto) and they did not contact me for a test drive. When I contacted them (3 or 4 days before they got the demo), they had seat times available. From what I gathered from our discussion, it appeared that they had no intention of calling anyone other than the early FE depositors, but I could be wrong. I'm curious to know if non-FE depositors were contacted by Gentry (Toronto).
I'm #160ish lol

My dealer emailed me my built conformation that was sent to Lotus. I sent the dealer my configuration code and he submitted it with my original Approved Customer ID that was generated when I submitted my order in Sept. of 2021.

Hi Clayton and welcome to the Forum! - I had placed my deposit sept. 2021 and will probably see an Emira in spring 2024. My guess for you would be either end of 2024 worst case scenario early '25. Since we both will be getting base spec cars and not an F/E version the options are bound to change. I have not submitted a spec to Lotus yet as the configurator for the base V6 has not been updated. As for Demo cars, I would expect sometime this coming spring to be in GTA dealers. Having driven the Emira I think it is worth the wait....

I feel special because I got a seasons greetings email today 😉

Nah, my dealer called and we went over each option when finalizing my spec then he emailed me a PDF version confirming everything. There's been nothing directly from Lotus.
