What did you do to your Emira today?

+1, I thought the buttons were a no-brainer and look so good in the car.
I think they will in fact be a necessary purchase for me too, despite their unreasonable high price, particularly to accommodate all weather rubber mats (which I plan to purchase as soon as they're made available). As for aesthetics, I actually do not like the look of them at all as they look like large screws bolted to the floor pan of the car and their contrasting silver color calls unwanted attention to them, but hey, can't argue about tastes or lack of them. GRP also offers them in black which at least should make them a bit more discrete.

that made me chuckle as I realized, with all of the almost-bought Lotus cars in my past that had so much exposed alimunim inside, I thought the Emira almost needed a flash of it to tie in with it's roots. glad GRP gives the option as opinions vary!

Just added a bit of rubber trim on the seat to try and avoid the bolsters getting abraded / split by the hard plastic... not too obvious or offensive if you aren't specifically looking for it.
Product link for those in the UK, if that is useful to anyone - Amazon product

Looks discrete. Is that trim self adhesive? If not, does it stay in place?

It's a u-channel shape, so wraps around the hard plastic lip, kept in place by pressure of the seat edge pushing against the bolster (you have to pry a gap open with your fingers to fit the rubber over the hard edge)

Has anyone had the leather where the hard plastic edge makes contact with the car seat, get damaged by that plastic edge? I've had this similar set-up on many of my vehicles, but I've yet to notice any damage in that area. That said, NONE of those vehicles were a Lotus (I've yet to see my Emira) and it's such an easy, inexpensive and "non-noticeable" fix, perhaps there's no harm doing it as a preventive measure?

Understood. What inside width did you get?

Appreciate that reference ADC. My solution will be to do both: the rubber edge trim, plus apply a leather softener (ie. Meguiar's) from time to time. Like others have done, I'll take the rubber piece when I pick up my Emira (hopefully) in the next month or so. Ya gotta love all this great Forum advice!

Nice! Did you specifically wait til after break-in for the 3rd car delete? I just bought it from GRP and was going to throw that on right when I pick up the car. Anything negative with that?
I just did the 3rd cat delete at 460 miles. Glad I didn't wait!

I got 3mm x 6mm (so inside width is 1.5mm). 4 x 7 (inside 2.5) would possibly also do the job more comfortably... the plastic edge is approximately a couple of mm thick, based solely on feel and zero actual measurement :)

Thank you

Nice, did you also add a k&n?
Nope. haven't seen any compelling data to change an air filter (and probably won't care under warranty). I'm not going to chase HP gains with this car. My wife and I drove about a hundred miles yesterday across the Hudson Valley on some fun roads and I never came close to having more road than power. For me, this really is the spiritual 2nd gen NSX that just leaves me craving more time to be in it.
