I figured it out! We aren't getting "real cars", that's why the configurator is all we have to go on. We are buying Lotus NFT's and they will look JUST like the configurator. The ones in the factory were just used to make the 3D models for the configurator.
I have also owned 5 lotus and still own three of them. My first deposit was in as soon as my dealer was taking them. I haven’t had a call asking me if I would like to collect from the factory. Not sure I am about to get a call from Matt W inviting me to a personal visit to the factory (although that would be nice Matt!)
In June I am going to get my Emira and and am not sweating the details as it’s going to be brilliant and in Magma red will sit beautifully along side my others that are yellow, green and blue.
Easy cancel your order and everyone else who’s sick of it . Plenty will be happy to get theirs sooner. It’s just a car lol and much bigger things in the world per say…
You know, I have this feeling that when I finally get my delivery (probably at the end of NEXT year since I'm going for Base, and I am in the U.S., so wait times are even longer), I might break down and have a small weep whilst driving and shifting her for the first time out of the dealership and towards my PPF place to have it fully XPEL Ultimate'd.
2 years is a really long time to get a hold of something you really want.
These were taken by multiple Lotus owner Phil Stevens this morning (Saturday) while on a personal tour of the factory with Matt Windle.
Inevitably these are getting loads of down/uploads and reposts all over social media, including some subtle and not so subtle image processing. Plus lots and lots of questions and speculation. I've asked Phil if he can upload the originals direct to here, so we have them without Facebook's compression.
You can see Phil's original post (and all the reactions and questions) here:

It's pretty daft for Lotus to let photos leak out like this (I say leak, but they're with Matt's agreement) when everyone has been crying out for months for decent pictures. A few phone shots are interesting but there still has to be some caution about over-analysing them. These have been taken indoors under artificial light in an assembly hall that's only got the weekend lighting turned on, not the full working lights.
They're a decent representation of the colours if you take all that into consideration. The Hethel Yellow does look like that indoors in artificial lighting - wait till you see it in sunlight!
Why don't they get pictures of each colour taken professionally - it would be so much better!

I saw at min 0.15 that the emira nimbus has 2 front side radiators
at minute 1.01, the emira seneca blue has only a left side front radiator
is it any particular specification?

I had understood both should have two radiators, even the i4 ..... but yes in video you can clearly see one missing from the seneca blue car later in the video,
perhaps they ran short of them ? not a clue what part of production they at in the video ?

in the emirates they drive on the left
the nimbus with 2 radiators has a right hand drive
while the blue Seneca one with a radiator has a left-hand drive
I think it is a particular specification ..... maybe automatic transmission?
v6 or amg?
When I arrived upon the stair,
I saw my Emira that wasn’t there,
It wasn’t there again today,
Will it ever come my way.

Perhaps I met a Lotus Sales Man that wasn't there,
And he wasn't there again today, will he ever go away!

The Evora auto has an additional transmission oil cooler in the left hand front intake.
The manual oil cooler (if it’s got one) sits on top of the gearbox.
No reason to think the Emira would be different.
