Actual 0-60 Times?

When I finally get my V6 Auto in April, once run in I will do a few runs with the RaceBox GPS timing gadget, I have a perfect quiet sliproad near where I live, that leads straight onto a dual carriageway, so plenty of opportunity
April? Have you heard something to change from March delivery or are you thinking you will be run in by April?
0-60 under 4,000 revs would be an interesting test!

I have not tested 0-60 as not run in still. I did do a fast start up to about 4500 revs. The car is fast enough.
Where it is freakin' amazing is on the bends. Braking in late, going around the bend,. and flooring it early.

Ironically, outside of a straight road, I am not sure there is a faster car.
It is staggering.

I do miss that head flying back on full acceleration in 'faster' cars but at what cost?
The car is spot on.

Now that there are customer cars out in the wild and past the running-in mileage, has anyone come close to the claimed 4.3s 0-60 time? Anyone under 5s?

(yes I understand the “that’s not what this car is for, get a Tesla” arguments, I’m just wondering how optimistic Lotus’s published spec was)

I don’t think it’s anywhere south of 5 seconds.

For the brand faithful, accelerating and lateral grip / ‘handling’ are not mutually exclusive. You can have a great handling car that accelerates reliably to the Manufacturers claimed specs (whether it’s important to you or not).

i am not even hopeful of April, still no checkout email

Real world 0-60 for the Emira will be in the 4.6-4.8s range. It will fall in between the 2011 Evora S and the 2020 Evora GT. It will be closest to the 2017 Evora 400. There's not much spread in-between all 4 models, weight and performance included when equipped with the manual transmission. The Emira I4 will have a slightly quicker 0-60 than the Emira V6, yet slower 5-60.

Emira V6 (est)

I thought the emira was an evora turned up to 11? But slower to 60?
The next thing you will be telling me is it is slower round hethel than the evora???

It IS fairly unheard of for a manufacturer to introduce a new model that is slower than the last, unless we're taking about an upgraded trim level, like the C7 ZR1 Corvette, which is faster than the C8 Z51 Corvette.

The C5 Corvette Coupe did 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and had a weight to horsepower ration of 9.2.
The Emira has a weight to horsepower ration of 7.7 and the added advantage of mid/rear engine configuration - more weight over the drive wheels.
So I expect the Lotus to be faster, but not as fast as the 2021 Evora GT, which costs more than the Emira..

The Emira's acceleration is evenly matched to the C5 Z06. It's 0-60, 0-100 and 1/4 mile times are all within 0.1 secs of the C5 Z06. The C5 corvette, on the other hand is almost a second slower in each measure, completing 0-60 in 5.1s, 5-60 in 5.4s. and the 1/4 mile in 13.6s. Sources below.

My 2001 C5 Z51 Coupe was C&D-tested 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and 12.9 seconds at 112 MPH. It had a bit more HP and Torque, compared to the earlier C5 Corvettes.

This C5 corvette has the Z51 package. 0-60 in 4.8s and 1/4 mile in 13.2s @ 110 mph. 5-60 should be 5.1s. Do you have a link? Either way, well off the pace of the Emira / Evora.

Remember, I live in California.
I will never modify drivetrain again . Having to undo mods for emissions testing is a pain and $$$. CA will soon force us all to buy electric appliances...

I owned the car for 13 years and was subscribing to C&D long before that. I remember the numbers well but did not find the exact issue. 0-60 in 4.5 seconds is not "well off the pace" of the Emira, but then again, C&D has thus far only estimated the Emira's acceleration times. Let's see what they come up with when they finally get one that they can "put through the wringer".
Really, though, I'd be happy with a car that was at least as fast as my 01 Corvette.

I hear you. I used to replace the CAI and catch can (2001 Corvette), every two years to pass the visual inspection part of the smog test. Some guys still have a shop swap out illegal turbo setups on their Mazda MX5s. My MX5 has a perfectly CARB-legal CAI - no swaps required. (y)

Well, you have nothing to worry about, as the Emira will be quicker than your corvette Z51 in 0-60/5-60. I agree with you that a 4.5s 0-60 is not well of the pace of the Emira. However a 0-60 of 4.8s would be at least 0.5 sec off the pace of the Emira. For the acceleration numbers obsessed crowd, that's not an insignificant amount. Car and driver's 0-60 estimation of 4.0-4.2 seconds for the Emira sounds spot on.
