If you get it made, I'd appreciate it if you can work with @GRP to distribute this in the US - it would save us on some shipping costs and headaches of dealing with international shipping, and Greg probably would get you a lot more exposure to the rest of the north America Emira owners population.
Agreed; will need to work out a different model for distributing to the US. Will work that out once I can confirm it is worth going ahead.

Thanks for the suggestions.
* The boot liner can have a couple of slit cut into them so that I can run two 1-inch wide Velcro straps to tie down the hazard triangle. - Cant see an issue with that, will look into this if we get enough interest for the bootliner in general.
* A liner for the shelf behind the seats so I can put my greasy takeout there with no worries. - Can't see an issue with this, was quite a thin space from what i remember, would just need to get it 3d scanned at the same time.
* Possibly liners for the carpeted areas of the door sill. Liner only, no carpet cover layer. - seen some of the faux leather mats which cover that area, not sure about that though as there are no fixing points in that area. Would need double sided tape or velcro, could become a bit of a trip hazard. I could look into it though
Covering the door sill would be fantastic.

I think you may be able to keep it flush and avoid it becoming a trip hazard if you add shape-strengthening ribs and/or have the liner follow the shape of the door sill beyond the flat area (because adding bends is a way of adding strength to the shape). Do you know what I mean?

I couldn't find an example for this material, but it is done quite commonly to metal parts like this:

I mention because in my experience sticking velcro on carpets hasn't been great.

Definitely interested in the boot liner if a better shipping method to the U.S. can be sorted!

I see what you are saying, but I'm still not sure TPE would be rigid enough to stay in place like that.

The door sill is quite wide, so it will definitely have to be a separate piece from the mat. It would follow the shape of the sill and the side of the sill, just not sure how it would fix in place.

Seen some sellers offering carbon fiber versions, I am assuming they are probably velcro/double sided taped on, but the carbon fiber would be rigid enough.

When I'm next in an Emira I'll have a look.

Conscious haven't posted in a week or so.. Just to keep you in the loop..

As mentioned, part of the process is 3D scanning, see attached example of a 3D scan I did today of the Eletre footwell. This can then be cleaned up and used to produce a mould for production.

Working with a new dealership very close to me now (Lotus Berkshire), so next week I'll try and do some scanning of an Emira too.

Cheers!

Hi all,

Hope you are well!

I have been working on some bits for the Lotus Eletre and just thought I would see If they would be of interest to the Emira community.

I have got a TPE Vacuum formed bootliner. Also working on a TPE Floormat with detachable carpets.

See attached photos for reference of the Eletre versions.

These products would take significant investment as I have to get the car 3D Laser Scanned, pay for a sample mould and then the production mould. Would have to do this for LHD and RHD; LHD could be a pain to sort out!

If there is enough interest, target pricing would be:

TPE Bootliner - £99 ($127)
TPE Floormats with Carpet layer - £149 ($193)

If it does proceed would need to look at a shipping model as at the moment shipping to US looks like circa $50 due to size and weight per shipment.

If interested just comment what you would be interested in and if LHD or RHD (Assume most LHD on here!)

Thanks!
I have just purchased the Lotus Eletre S and i am looking for a custom made Boot liner to protect my boot space from the dogs, would definatley be interested in the boot liner and possibly matts too please!!!!

Apologies for the delay, but didnt want you guys to think i have forgotten!

I managed to 3d scan the Emira boot and design a TPE mat for it.

The mold is now being made so I can get an initial sample to test. See design below.

Will keep you all updated with progress!
