Here's my installation video for the GRP third cat delete pipe and a Milltek active valve exhaust controller. If you plan to install the cat delete pipe, I would suggest you watch this first. It will save you a LOT of time and you will be prepared if you have to make any adjustments for a proper fit.

If the muffler inlet pipe is larger than your cat delete pipe (like mine), you must expand the cat delete pipe to fit correctly. You can pre-order a tailpipe expander tool before installation or find one at your local auto parts store. Here's a link for your convenience: https://a.co/d/3dFKVyI

I used this video to install my valve controller, brilliant, thank you

Tip for those who have issues with fitting the cat delete pipe and need to expand: the cheaper expander (this one) did not work at all for me, despite a lot of effort and time; I then tried this more robust version from Harbor Freight, and it worked instantly. As always, the right tool makes all the difference!

I’ve been reading about quite a few people that have needed to expand the grp 3rd cat delete pipe. Is the story the same for the miltek pipe?

FWIW, the GRP pipe fit perfectly for me. I compared it to the pipe it was replacing, and they were exactly the same size.

No matter where you buy it from, you won't know whether it fits until you try to install it. Maybe just buy an expander that you can return if you don't end up using it.

Speaking with the mechanic in my "go-to shop" in preparation for this DIY job, he advised against a DIY pipe expander, saying they were ++ difficult to use, finicky and not precise enough. He thought it best to take measurements and go to a muffler shop with the proper expansion machine and get them to form the pipe so it's uniform and properly done, likely at very little cost or n/c if you're lucky, since it's a "nothing job" for them.

I don't know if that's correct advice, never having done this and recognizing others have been using these DIY pipe expanders, apparently with success. And since the replacement is just a straight pipe, some gaps in a seam that's less than 100% tight, may not matter much?

Anyway, FWIW I'm passing along the mechanic's comments. This gives another option for those who don't want to buy/rent a pipe expander.

Miltek fitted perfectly for me. I see little need for the valve controller though. Something to fail quite easily, plus I’d rather the valve is in sync with what the ÉCU expects from the drive modes.

Thanks for the info!

Anyone else that have fit the miltek pipe?

I fitted the Miltek decat to mine. I wasn't very impressed with the quality to be honest. It required quite a bit of fettling with a metal file to get it to fit. It does sound great though and for me the valve controller seems completely superfluous. I'd advise anyone to fit the decat first and see what it sounds like (LOUD at high revs) before spending more on the valve controller.

What did you have to file down?

There were some very rough edges on the inside of the flange so the downpipe wouldn't fit cleanly. Others don't seem to have had this issue so perhaps mine was an outlier.
Actually, I noticed this too at the flange with the GRP version before installation. It really wasn’t bad, only about a 1/32”-1/16” step on the ID and less than halfway around the inside circumference. I’d argue very few people would have ever noticed this or cared but the perfectionist in me was inspecting the part and rubbing my fingers around the inside of the welded joint and after I felt it, I couldn’t get it out of my head. Five minutes later, I got out the dremmel to smooth it out, then used compressed air and an alcohol solution with a microfiber cloth to remove any remaining grinding debris.

Anyone try the Larini decat? Not sure what those holes are doing there . . .

I didn't think the 3d cat was monitored.

I did not use a pipe expander when I installed my GRP delete pipe, but I did use some exhaust sealant paste, no issues.

I actually installed the 3rd cat delete pipe by myself this past Monday following the steps of this video, the written instructions of which are also provided as part of GRP's product description. Had I seen this video beforehand, it would've been even more helpful but, I have to say, I found the removal and installation process to be a lot easier than I was expecting. I really did not encounter any of the difficulties that some members have experienced.
I placed my car on 22" high Jack Stands (so no ramps or lifts), I did let WD-40 soak in on all of the pertinent bolts and screws, I had gathered all the tools that GRP recommended and with a little force, twisting and patience, the CAT came right off. I barely had to use the wood dowel to pull the CAT out of the brace. Quite frankly, the tools that I found most useful were the 2 pry bars and the rubber mallet. A 3/8 ratchet-to-socket extension (I used a 8" extension) was also pretty useful, as it helped with clearance in some awkward spots to unscrew and screw in the bolts. I happen to also have removed the under tray behind the one for the muffler section (the one for draining oil and removing the filter) which gave me a better look and a little more room to maneuver. The additional reason I had for removing the second under tray was because I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to also put sound proofing (1mm second skin) in both under trays as they are very thin and likely amplify and transmit a lot of unwanted wheel sound in to the cabin. I hope this proves a little helpful, but if you're not up to it, you can always get a muffler shop to do it for you.
How did you get the car onto Jack stands? Sorry my ownership is only a few days old so far and I haven't seen a broadly accepted method for getting on jackstands yet considering the small lift pads.
