I placed my deposit march 2024. My dealership in Illinois essentially is saying that they have no idea when my allocation will come. I was initially told that an allocation would come in december/january most likely - I also thought there were more lotuses being made but it still seems like there is delay! Is this normal should I put a deposit down somewhere else as well? I would love for my emira to come in by April of next year so I can drive it in the summer here.

I guess I dont mind, if it takes too long I wouldnt even mind a used one although I would prefer to have my car delivered in spring and not winter esp because out here in Chicago I dont really want to drive it in the winter. Especially with the road salt.

Nice!! After a 2 1/2 year wait, flying to Pittsburgh today and picking mine up tomorrow and driving it back to Wisconsin.

My timeline so far for a V6 auto:

Initial Deposit: 2024-05-20
Second deposit & order submitted: 2024-06-01
Order request approved: 2024-06-03

Dealership mentioned an expected deliver in Dec 2024 which matches what a couple others have heard - hoping to enter production sometime in the next couple months.

Got my VIN recently, low 4800s so probably one of the last of the FE run, hoping for delivery in Dec at the latest.

Wait how are you getting yours so quickly? Am I doing something wrong? I probably placed my deposit earlier than you I think in March. I still have not even been given an allocation to do the second deposit.

It’s going to depend a lot on the dealership and how many allocations they received. I got my VIN for a V6 auto FE about two weeks ago. Original deposit fall of 2022. Confirmed factory order May 2024. From what I understand FE V6 are done with production for the year. We’re just waiting on shipping and i4 FE’s now. 2025 will be the base models and some people are currently locking in factory orders at the new prices and options.

Wouldn’t hurt to call around but I think timing will be iffy for a spring delivery given Lotus is between FE and base models at the moment. My timing was just very lucky, turned out they had an open allocation when I put a deposit down and the dealership did a very quick turnaround as a result. The dealer mentioned take rate on the V6 auto was really low for them.

Maybe but a spring delivery would be a current allocation. You would be placing your confirmation order now in order to take delivery this spring. The window is very tight but you may be able to find one. Understand, most folks are 2-3 years waiting so you might be able to shorten that a little but it’s still an expectation you need to set.
