i4 versus V6 sound … from Goodwood ….. OR NOT :(

I was told by the driver of the DV car that they had no i4 running up the hill today. All 4 in shot were V6 as I looked through all the rear view windows.
Since been told they do a grey one that goes up alongside a green Electra. Went to see it in first glance area and not a Lotus person in sight!

What I heard of the sound when it went up the hill earlier was good. Not loud like the v6 making it a totally different experience.

Here’s the sound comparison

Nimbus Grey i4 and Hethel Yellow V6. The i4 sounds good and better than I was expecting. The V6 sounds great and I prefer it, but they’re both good.

It’s only an iPhone video but I think gives a good impression of the differences.

Female Lotus driver going up the we hill in a Seneca Blue V6. She was also interviewed. Her name is Katie and she is involved in the Emira development at Lotus, and she is a driving teacher for courses offered by Lotus.

Now the gray EMIRA I4 had its run - and we all heard the engine sound, which is fine, but definitely “lesser” than the V6 (which is OKAY). My order for this car is kept firm, and I am looking forward to delivery towards the end of 2023 or early 2024.

Yep, sounds like a... car...
It actually sounds quite “stealthy”; which may be a good idea depending on where you live, and to what extent want to manage the level of attraction you prefer. (My other car - which I also intend to keep - is an Alpina B3 with Akrapovic exhaust - ha ha ha)

That sounds about right for a 4 Cylinder AMG. I was hoping that they'd be able to let through some more of the subharmonics and high-frequency mechanical drama with shorter pipes, but this is not so. It's just the standard I4 drone. I didn't hear any crackles and pops, which I know the M139 is capable of. Maybe it's not in the right "track" mode?

I heard a few pops when i saw / heard its first run. Quite liked it. As said, Stealthy
