I'm not sure I can see any overs bar 5k? Is it really worth it for the hassle???Why not take the car , flip it and make a few bob , call it compensation for all the Agro ? This must be a better way of saying F you Lotus ?
Sorry to hear this. I'm still hanging in there. Had a brief moment where I was going to back out and I couldn't decommit. This is a trying journey on everyone involved. Doing everything I can to see it through. Rethink it before it's too late. Just make sure it's the right choice. Take care-After much deliberation I've notified Lotus to cancel my Emira order. It wasn't a decision taken lightly, but I have no regrets and believe I have made the right choice for me. I was never in the market for the Emira, but when it was launched I got caught up in all the hype and placed an early deposit, but what I was really in the market for at the time was a convertible - specifically a Boxster 718 GTS 4.0, that was my first choice. My thinking is that the Boxster isn't getting any younger and is due to be changed to an all electric model in a couple of years, so I really need to enjoy it now. So I've placed a deposit on a really nice lightly used one. My thinking is to enjoy this for a while and if the Emira lives up to the hype I can always place a deposit again for a new one in a couple years when the waiting lists and part supply issues have died down. If the Emira was available as a soft top I would have placed a deposit for that instead, but it wasn't to be.
If anyone has a Nimbus, V6, FE, manual, tour, red leather and red callipers on order, you may jump up the queue. I was told September build.
could get some very good bids on collecting cars auction site , could easy make £15/20k over , plenty of very wealthy car nuts who will pay to get into one early .Waiting for one to hit autotrader… we can all take a view then. Demand is very high given production excruciatingly low.
I would say 5k as a minimum
Boozy , I have Boxster 25 PDK , fantastic car , engine is an absolute peach , needs a good aftermarket exhaust to let it sing though https://www.litchfieldmotors.com/porsche/718-gt4-gts/After much deliberation I've notified Lotus to cancel my Emira order. Based on orders I think Lotus will not miss any of those peopleEmira Spain, Yes I agree with all you say there and am aware of that but still sure Lotus should do more to retain customers, although clearly the likes of me are not their target, and I accept that. The old Lotus company and the people I had a great relationship with and I still value those that remain there at Hethel. New Lotus is of course only Lotus by name and not philosophy, sadly. Lotus have done a great job of selling the Alpine to enthusiasts and a fair job of getting drivers back in to BMW’s by the sound of it.
That's not really the point is it...Based on orders I think Lotus will not miss any of those people
My thoughts for this to be a premium you just need a buyer more money than sense wants one may be his other half and not willing to wait. If I decide not to go ahead with my purchase if I can flip I will for all the grief and hassle not having a car for so long. The other month I bought a pair of trainers £150 and flipped them for £1k like I say always someone more money than sense.I'm not sure I can see any overs bar 5k? Agree; to be fair £5k compensation right for 2yrs of waiting. My thoughts for this to be a premium you just need a buyer more money than sense wants one may be his other half and not willing to wait. Ooo so will be interesting to see what that dealer puts them up for and if they sell quicklyAgree; to be fair £5k compensation right for 2yrs of waiting.
As you say always someone willing to pay for it. Bound to see one at Redline Specialist cars “soon”. I know of a dealer who has two on order due Dec that will hit the market near on straight away
I agree and previously my experience with UK Lotus dealers has been excellent. A great buying experience new and they looked for used cars to my spec. Always happy to let me tyre kick and take cars out to test drive on my own. Good aftersales, although sometimes hampered by Hethel for parts, but argued my case for Lotus to pay for an outside warranty repair. Invitations to track days and events, tickets to Goodwood. As someone who’s bought several Lotus cars when they couldn’t give them away….
Must add, when I get the emails and calls from Lotus over the next year or 3 - which I will -asking me to buy their cars, I will just reply, “ok, I’ll take a look soon”
I’ll buy off the good guys and gals who gave great service though.
This crud show won’t be forgotten.
6,600 red line, detuned car… just for the sports car ‘drivers’
Maybe as a replacement for my people carrier
Actually we have received poorer treatment, or at least those of us who placed pre-reveal deposits have. There are no excuses for not trying to retain your old customer base as you transition into a more modern company.
But then we have all been treated the same, so it isn't like you have actually received poorer treatment. Just that you past relationship makes it feel that way
By giving Lotus £80k? OK, you might make £5-15k but Lotus get their money and sales stats. Why not take the car , flip it and make a few bob , call it compensation for all the Agro ? This must be a better way of saying F you Lotus ?
£78145 , couple of grand for on the road , so £80k , how’s £95k not over ?I dont see the emira making overs, if a garage has one up for 95k he's only paying list.
I know. Wasn't trying to make it sound like it was nothing. Just that Lotus don't actually care about any of us!Actually we have received poorer treatment, or at least those of us who placed pre-reveal deposits have.
And when we’ve complained about it the reaction makes it clear Lotus don’t care about the previous customers or heritage. Unless it helps them sell a limited edition £3m EV hypercar. At an event where enthusiasts were initially invited then excluded.
It will hurt them a bit from a brand image perspective if dozens of cars sit in the classifieds for a long time not shifting.By giving Lotus £80k? OK, you might make £5-15k but Lotus get their money and sales stats.
