This is just for the first year road tax for new vehicles after April 2025.
Ah, yes, I did miss that out in the post...duly corrected.

Have been away from this forum for a while, so may not be up to speed, but when is Emira V6 production due to cease, if this is not already on the cards or it has happened already?

UK deliveries should be 2025 onwards.
My original order was 2025 before I cancelled and got an orphan.
There was a time when the Lotus configurator was saying 2026 but it's reverted to 2025.
When production ends is anybodies guess these days but 2027 has been mentioned.

<2025 Emira road tax year 2 to 6 will, according to this video, be going up from £600/ year to £795/ year.

Anyone got any gunpowder? I loath my Government.

Its amazing to see how the UK is cutting its self off at the knees with such stong anti energy policy.

These taxes just keep pushing a strong agenda for a region rich is resources.

They are trying to incentivise electric cars, by pricing out carbon fuels. Issue being so many have carbon fuelled cars, that its effecting a lot of the less well off disproportionately.
Whilst I agree we need to be less reliant on carbon fuels, they expect to do it in a couple of years, instead of a realistic timeframe that people can manage and afford.
The UK itself is not rich in resources North Sea oil is starting to slow down and if memory serves, is not the type of oil used for fuel, it has other uses i.e. we export a fair bit of oil, but have to import a lot of the right type of oil for cracking into Petrol/Diesel
Overall the UK still tries to think of itself as a world leader, when in reality we are 2nd Tier at best.

That VED hike isn’t for cars that are already registered just new cars. That’s my understanding
I hope you're right, but the video states quite clearly that vehicles registered from 2017-2025 (mine) will now pay the £195 std fee, plus the 5 year suplement of £600 (up from something like £375)

He's misread the rate rules by adding on the supplement to an already adjusted tax rate.

If you look at the YouTube comments he's apologised and given a new calculation:

"I apologise as I've made a mistake in this video with the expensive car supplement. Currently it is £190+£410=£600 for £40K+ vehicles. The DVLA document was showing £600 for the luxury car supplement but I didn't realise this was already including the standard rate VED. So the new rate for £40K+ vehicles from year 2-6 will be £605 (or slightly more if they increase the supplement by RPI), not £795. Still, the point still applies - it's just unfair as it's not just the original buyer who ends up paying this.Sorry, will try harder next time!"

Cost in France is on CO2 emissions 60000 euros for Emira 4 or 6 cyl. Equivalent to 50000 GBP or 61500 US D
