Thanks for this. I too hate the lighter blue shown in some visuals so this is a relief to know.View attachment 2667Quite representative I think! Have now seen the car in the flesh twice now and think it's amazing and really shows off the cars beautiful lines and design features, my choice!
Isn't the car on ajustable coilovers? I thought I heard that in an interview somewhere last year. It's great fun playing with the config for sure!
But whats irritating (borderline mind boggling) is how Lotus still chooses to show the car "slammed" like the blue mule making its rounds. All colors, all pics, videos etc. Nothing like the grey car in all the test rides which sits higher with a larger wheel gap which supposedly reps the real car
That's at Endevour Colchester, my local dealer as well!! it did look great, I'm going same colour but no black pack!View attachment 2667Quite representative I think! No, they aren't adjustable. Bilstein struts and eibach springs.Isn't the car on ajustable coilovers? I thought I heard that in an interview somewhere last year.
I know they do the job and it's more about the rates and set up. But they aren't very 'Gucci' are they One of reasons it is a relatively cheap sports car thoughNo, they aren't adjustable. Bilstein struts and eibach springs.
Taking a "brave pill" and going for red leather also!!!That's at Endevour Colchester, my local dealer as well!! it did look great, I'm going same colour but no black pack!
Hi Tom,The flake in Seneca is a very fine silver. The flake is only visible if you're very close to it, within touching distance. From further away it appears like a more uniform colour, almost solid.
You can see it in the portion of bodywork nearer the camera here, and not in the further away part:

Hi Tom,
I need a like advice please. When I watch the magma on my iPad/iPhone it is the exact colour I want but, when I watch it on my laptop it’s a completely different story. I’m just wondering, seeing that you’ve seen a magma in the flesh- do you have an iPhone/iPad and if so, are the colours a true likeness? Thanks
Both iPad and iPhone look the same but my laptop shows a very different colour when I’m watching the video. I know it’s impossible to gauge a colour from a screen but when both my apple devices are identical then I’m assuming all standard settings apple devices will be the same. If you’re ‘eye’ and iPhone match then I figure that’s a safe colour to assumeI’ll have a look when I get home. I’ve only looked on a PC monitor so far and that looked realistic. But it’s not a calibrated screen and all these devices will have some variation unless calibrated.
How different was it for you between devices?
I think this is down to the different devices and factors such as brightness and image resolution. Both iPad and iPhone look the same but my laptop shows a very different colour when I’m watching the video. Hey, don't rely on me for reassurance. I don't know what else Lotus are supposed to do. They've spent hours on the configurator and it's the best representation I've seen. All four of us who saw cars at the factory agree on that. Take into account variations between devices. Look at the different display/lighting modes and turn the car 360 degrees. If you're really concerned, try a calibrated monitor. It's still a render and won't be 100% right, but it's very close. It can't fully represent the effect of a metallic.@TomE, that red has been the most divisive and frustrating colour... I'm disappointed we haven't had more clarification from Lotus, as it's such a pivotal decision for many of us. We shouldn't have to depended on you for reassurance. Grumble over.
As far as I can work out, it's only the June delivery batch people who are having to rely on this (and it looks like some of the Australia orders too). Everyone else won't have to make a final decision until after press reviews and photos of real cars.
Yes, Eibach is probably the biggest company in aftermarket suspension. They make springs and swaybars for many oem sportscars as well. Same as Bilstein.. Very reputable German strut manufacturer. Arguably the best in the business.I dont know anything about Bilstein or Eibach (I have heard of Eibach before on the BMW forums). Are those considered good brands?
I'm in the design business and from our standard procedure we calibrate all our work for iOS devices as they are most widely used and generally very consistent in color reproduction. So unless your laptop screen is professionally calibrated I will go with color reproduction on your iOS devices.I should have started my comment with a thank you to you -- without your comments I'd be feeling much less confident in my purchase. I'm one of those Australians that were told to lock in their orders by 14 January.
Thanks for all your help Tom, it’s much appreciatedI think this is down to the different devices and factors such as brightness and image resolution.
I've set the same Daylight view of Magma on iPhone, iPad and PC screen and physically held them next to each other and there's some difference between devices but not significant. I've then taken screen shots from all three devices and viewed all three captures on every device. I think each screenshot, regardless of source, shows the same on each device - so there is an "iPhone" rendition that looks the same regardless of whether I view the iPhone, iPad or PC screenshot.
Here are three shots and I think the only variation is down to the resolutions of the screen from small to large - the colours are identical:

I also tried pausing the video at the same point and got the same effect: the perception of colour depends on the device you view it on, not the device the image was taken on. This reinforces my point that you'll only get a reliably accurate view on a calibrated monitor.
