Removing front bumper

I removed all the screws the manual mentions. However the bumper feels very very firmly attached above and rear of the headlights. Way harder pull than the rear bumper required. There's a black plastic piece there that looks like the one on the back, but it won't just pull off.

Left side facing forward

Bell and Covill say it's just the circled clip holding it in. I've got no idea how to free it however.

Hey I’m having the same issue how did ya get the front bumper off? Did ya have to drill out the rivets to the black pieces that are at the end of the metal fender ?

No. Once you remove the screw from under the back wing of the bumper, and the tiny one from the original post, and the ones from the top and bottom of the front edge (some are under the service panel), you use a trim tool to defeat the clips that are circled in the exploded diagram. It takes two people though. One to pry and one to pull.
