UK deposit to order checkout to delivery process

Will Lotus share the list of AO23xxx options available

So it could be possible that you could have your initials as the last 3 letters if it’s available

In the case of Harry’s car, I can only presume it was not a coincidence that he got FHM, For Harry Metcalfe
good luck with that....... it LCC are not difficult enough to deal with, try getting that info :). It will be a separate department that registers the cars and I doubt very much if they will be assisting you, but worth asking...

When I get my check out email, I will definitely ask if they have a list and see if they’ve got something that could be close to making it personalised

Finally got the check out email yesterday. Doesn’t look like Nov build, Dec delivery is likely to happen but that’s ok, what’s another few days. Deposit was placed back in April/May 2021 and it’s almost exactly a year since I sold my Evora.
Given I have opted for factory collection and planned to get the train to Hethel, perhaps Jan collection was always on the cards. (For non UK residents, here in the UK we are starting several weeks of union led strike action on the railways).
Where in South Bucks are you - I’m Amersham. Getting my car next week so there will soon be at least 2 fairly local

When did you get your checkout email, I completed mine on 21st November and was told it would be a December delivery. I have spoken to LCS on several occasions over the last few weeks and they keep saying it is in PDI and you will be contacted soooooon about delivery. Given the PDI process is hours not days I am concerned the car has problems so has not passed this stage. I do not want to spend this kind of money on a pile of trouble, so how long has your checkout process taken?

I had my checkout email on Nov 5th… and still no car… it turned out my car was missing some interior trim! I believe it was down to parts shortage rather than someone forgetting to put in on!

Why would Lotus send an incomplete car to Upper Heyford for PDI? I would like to see the Lotus finance situation, Geely cannot have seen any return on their investment yet!!!

I don’t think they sent it to PDI - I think it was left on the airfield at Hethel awaiting parts… I think it was fairly early in the production run around the time we had heard of some cars being partially built. That thought doesn’t make me feel great!!! Apparently it’s at PDI now though.

I got my checkout email around the same time as you and this week got my dates. I was never told, but I would imagine my car too was in PDI and maybe a few things were picked up and if that were the case, lets say a door trim was not correctly attached, as has been the case on several cars, then the car has to go back to Lotus.
Now while in theory it only takes 45 mins to get this fixed, IF it were the only thing wrong, instead it has to be scheduled and fitted in behind the other cars with PDI faults etc etc. That could easily be days if not a week, then maybe, although unlikely, it has to go back to PDI..or certainly pass internal QC once again and again, they wont just bump cars into the queue as its just a quick one.
So all these silly steps would need to be followed and I would hesitate to guess thats why our cars are so delayed. Add to this the EU cars which certainly have their faults too.... and other on line production issues they may have and trying to fix the teething problems etc etc....
Im sure you will get your call within days and Im "sure" your care will be fine or you, like me, will be bloody annoyed upon collection / drop off, after all this wait

If it's failed PDI it does make you wonder why the guy/girl doing the work isn't driven to do a quality job - admittedly if a part fails its beyond their control. It must cost Lotus a lot of money for a car to fail PDI then get booked back in for scheduling a fix - or perhaps they have a process somewhere to fix PDI issues without going back on the line for small fixes.
At least someone is finding the fault before the customer is so quality checks are working in some kind of fashion!

Similar time to you. I doubt it means there is an issue with your car - some things just seem a bit random. Given they promised December I suggest you ask to speak to Customer Service Manager and get the full facts.

Id say your quite safe in your assumption... 2nd..3rd...4th week of jan.. dont worry, there will be no ruined sex by coming too soon with Lotus

WELL, finally....
@Scruff111S you beat me to it... but at deceased @Leonard I beat you to it (I think)
I just got my call and was offered 2 dates, one before xmas, which was a nice effort, and one in January, which actually makes more sense.
22nd dec and 5th january... where dealer would receive a few days before these dates.
So, feel free to correct my thinking, or ignore me.... but my thought process is the following:
.
while it would be nice before xmas, its actually a pain in the neck and expensive flights to get back to the UK to collect the car so I will try to hold my "excitement" or what is left of the shreds of it.
January delivery will mean a 23 registration year although still on a 72 plate, which I know, whether you disagree or not, does have an extra value for most car dealers the day you want to sell it and that 500 odd pounds for the sake of 1 week, as I had disgusted/discussed several weeks ago, is in my mind worth the wait... .that and cheaper flights, channel tunnel crossings etc.

If I clean all my UK / EU accounts I get to be 300 pounds over what I owe lotus, which means I need to go cap in hand somewhere to beg for a few thousand so as not to leave myself in danger of being overdrawn.... how embarrassing, but Im an adult, I can do embarrassing. If anyone wants to offer..... dont all fall silent at once.

I need to decide and let Lotus CS know so they can get their other dept to raise the invoice which needs to be paid 3 days before delivery to the dealer (not collection date).
THEN I need to decide if I take that car over here to Spain in January and enjoy it... or not take it and instead sell it...... And then based on that, decide about the Spanish plated car which should theoretically be delivered in January too.
decisions / decisions
I dont feel as excited as I should I have to say....... Lotus CS admitted, without too much prompting, there have been some teething problems, all of which we know about on here and none of which individually detract from my excitement, but the whole overall experience does.
Hi @emiraspain, sorry, I have not been on here for a few days. It has been a nightmare few days trying to get things sorted before this Saturday's delivery. I received the invoice email on Friday, unfortunately, 10 minutes before the bank closed. So, Saturday bank visit to pay for the car, resulted in being told the sort code and account number did not match Lotus Cars Ltd. Apparently, others have had the same problem. So could not pay. Monday, requested a confirmation email to confirm details, visited bank to do the deed. Got email receipt almost immediately. Today received through the post from Lotus a very smart Key Presentation Box, this is RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) protected. I have to say it was a surprise. Has anyone else received this?

Seems that most of the UK customers have received that fancy Emira key box, most of them received it a couple of weeks after the car collection

Still no check out email for my December build. Local Porsche dealer lending me a 992 tomorrow. Note no 30 minute accompanied tracked test drive. I have the car for the day to go where I want.

Ooh, you're going to love that... which car, the base model?
Hewn from granite without a single flaw. A 911 I can desire.. a Cayman I do not.
