USA/Canada Delivery Thread

Let's go to the US public regulatory data, shall we?

There are no entries yet in the US NHTSA VPIC MID for the Lotus Emira, in fact there are no new entries for Lotus since the last new model was released (Evora GT) in 2019, as model year 2020.
Searchable here through the MID link: https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/

The 2019 filing with the NHTSA was about 2 months prior to expected first-sale date for the Evora GT. The letter was dated May 13 and the on-sale date claimed was July 15. This is the process manufacturers use to declare the VIN pattern and other details formally to the USG. Now I don't know the lag time between conducting business with the NHTSA and the documents becoming available online, so this may not give us anything meaningful until the next public database sync or publication date. But if the data is anything remotely close to live, I suspect we're a ways off from US deliveries.

I've been monitoring shipping manifests. A couple more "Emira First Editions" arrived in Baltimore Maryland on 1/9/2023. But these appear to be 2023 cars meant for test drives or some other event. I'll leave it up to others to pester Lotus Cars USA about it.

As much as we are joking this is pitiful and I hope the dealers give us something, its more than halfway through the month and NOTHING. FAKE NEWS WHAT A JOKE!

I try to stay optimistic but damn they are giving me every reason to lose more hair on my head than has already fallen out.

Dealers are probably more upset than me with everyone jumping ship and watching their money go bye bye.

My guess is dealer Demo's starting to arrive - I remember my dealer saying his was suppose to come in Dec.
What was their demo scheudle? I remember they released it a while back, was it the demo cars before or after the customer cars? I thought customer cars first? Who knows anymore.

So these may not be US spec because what about all the NHST stuff I was seeing on here earlier that was not approved yet?

for sure dealer demo's were first before CX cars.

I know some don’t like talking about VIN numbers but those two look relatively early in the production run.
