USA/Canada Delivery Thread

I'm a big of a Z-car fan as you'll find having owned and driven almost them almos exclusively over my life including a '72 240Z, '90 300ZX Coupe, '95 300ZX 2+2, '95 300ZX-TT, 2010 3Z0Z 40thAE & current 2016 370Z Nismo.
I had given up on Nissan ever releasing the new Z, but was excited when it was announced; but have only been disappointed with each bit of news since. The local Drive Exotica purchased one for track rental and promptly dumped it within a month because the chassis because it drives more like a Mustang with excessive understeer. When Nissan revealed the Nismo specs, there was some hope; but even at $65K is overpriced and it is only being offered in automatic. Nissan has lost their way and I have no interest in it whatsoever. There are so many better alternatives in this price range that it's a non-starter even for loyal Z-car owners.
also a big Z fan and still have the 40th Nismo. Wasn't overly impressed with the new one and with it being auto. Will just hang onto the 370 but look forward to new experiences with the Emira

Canadian F/E 1.0 arrives the same time as US. We receive about 10% of total US allocations to Canada. So for the first 700 we got 70. Looks like there was more F/E 2.0's than 1.0's, but still a small amount compared to south of the border. Which makes sense, Porsche is similar in that we receive 10% of the 911's/718's coming to North America. We also have about 10% of the dealer network the US has. (50 vs 5)

With that said I deposited in September 2021 and still have not been called for an allocation. IMO - the Canadian market is an after thought to Lotus Cars USA (head office in Michigan), which is who we operate under and they allot the allocations to the dealers in Canada. I have read on here depositors from 6-12 months ago that got called to receive a 2.0 F/E in the US at some dealers. Meanwhile many Canadian depositors have been waiting 2+ years without getting a call. Which means Lotus Cars USA is not distributing allocations to dealers based on the timing of customer deposits / or size of wait lists. So if there are extra allocations coming to North America, it is safe to assume the US market will be priority. I don't think I can fault the dealers, as I am sure they would like to make as much money as possible and sell the whole waitlist.

I am hopeful that all orders placed before 2023 (2021-2022) will receive an allocation by Q2 2024. Might be a base or an F/E 2.0. From what I hear, there may be a few more months of F/E 2.0 being handed out until January 2024 / when the base configurator finally goes live. I have also heard that there has been a fair amount of cancellations off the lists with very few being added. Makes sense, the Canadian economy is doing a bit worse than the US at the moment.
What you’re saying is correct. My guess is that you’ll get a call very soon once the next batch of orders come up for B/E. Ballpark first 12 got FE 1.0 and next 20ish got FE 2.0 (15 but maybe 5 dropped or delayed). I assume you’re somewhere around 50-60? I think there will be about 6 per month but uneducated guess is those 30+ deposit order 1/3 may drop out once the B/E goes on sale so as far as the list goes it may move by 10 depositors per month (just my guess). You can probably do your math from that point. Not sure where 2022 deposited falls on deposit # but say 100-150 my guess would be early-mid 2025 delivery.

Anyone else get any other confirmation? Can we get Scotty on the line?

With BMW, you call a BMW "Genius", and they tell you what ship your car is on 😎 I will be doing this within the next week hopefully.

Yep! My wife’s i4 has been on the sea for roughly a month. It’s due to arrive on Thursday! Such an easier purchasing experience!

I’ve got to ask, is “my wife’s I4” similar to when I bought my wife a new fly fishing rod that oddly was only ever used by me?

Kudos to you sir for pulling this off!

Absolutely not relevant to the subject of this thread, but I’m going to attempt to make a correlation before Tom moves it. The reason we are so passionate about getting our Emiras is because this is the alternative:

I have a feeling that Lotus will be allocating a bit more F/E's to our market before the base kicks off. If no base configurator until Q1 2024 that means they will still be building F/E's in Q1/2 and possibly some of Q3. I don't think it will all be i4's for 6-8 months and they have been producing Chinese market i4's since mid-summer this year. (since Goodwood at least) Considering the UK/Europe seems to have a healthy supply of V6's, I imagine we will be getting a few more weeks of production allocated our way. I don't know how much of an order log the UK/Europe i4's are at, that may be the only deterrent.

Yes, but that data is delayed for free public access. So we likely won't be able to see that data until the cars are already in the US.
So what you're saying is, if we all chip in... 🤔

Fascinating dress code:
White hair, white socks and white shoes. Plenty of leg room in those models. Vintage never looked so vintage.

Anyone that placed a deposit after the dealer ran out of FE 2.0 allocation (there's a lot at my dealer as they're already out of allocation until Q3 build with delivery in Dec 24/Jan 25 if you place a deposit today). They will be in line for the production slot in the May/June base build or after. You don't have to submit your configuration when you place your deposit. I place the deposit on my March production I4 in early Sept but I did not submit my configuration until Oct 15th.

The last 5 received ocean shipments by Lotus USA have been mixed pallet shipments of car parts. These still aren't in the volume that I would expect for full scale repair parts supply to dealer service departments, but it's a good sign that they are gearing up.

Keeping my fingers crossed that in the next few weeks we might see some indication of actual cars being manufactured, or verifiably staged for shipment. It boggles the mind that we are still sitting here in November of 2023 and have no VERIFIABLE evidence that Lotus is actually building cars for the North American market. Some random user on this forum saying they "know" what's happening and what's been built is not useful. That's not evidence.

Hearsay is worthless at this point, frankly... even from a "dealer". No offense to our wonderful dealers who participate here, but in the US model the dealers are independent businesses who are customers of Lotus just like we are, and Lotus has a historic pattern of outright lying to them about timelines. Until Lotus UK themselves allow someone... hell, ANYONE to see and verify that actual cars are being physically built, and carry some visual evidence of that fact to the waiting customer base, we're still sitting at Zero in terms of high quality information that is inherently worthy of trust.

Hopefully Lotus will finally give their largest target market SOMETHING more than this insufferable, grossly disrespectful silence. I've never experienced anything like this in any other customer-supplier relationship in my entire professional career. It's obscene.

I'm seeing emiras delivered on 7/18 and 8/11

Edit: obviously these were testers/tech training units
