USA/Canada Delivery Thread

I don't think people think the dealers are lying. I think people think the dealers and being LIED to, and they just report whatever they hear regardless if they have suspicions themselves.

My dealer since I put a deposit down in 2021 has been consistently negative about Lotus, and will openly tell you that when he gets info from Lotus directly that you should believe it about 25% of the time.
No communication is one thing. Being actively lied to about cars being shipped is another. If I had to make a bet I’d bet Bellevue is right. Will be shocked if they were just totally off here

I don’t believe anything until I see a shipping manifest that matches what a dealer has said. So far that doesn’t seem to exist.
Due to the epic length of this thread I think it should be capped,
then renamed Emira: Fact or Fiction? Believe it or Not!
Then you'll have context.

damn the last 60 pages have been the same circular arguments using the same scraps of information

never ending. next in the cycle is arguing if the dealers can sell any cars without CARB passing. whos it gunna be, the ritual must continue

I just got back from Lotus Bellevue. I talked to the general manager, and he told me that ALL the FE 1.0 cars are either at Port of Baltimore now, or on the boat soon to be unload to the port. They are hoping the cars will be at the dealership end of December or early January 2024. The GM also mentioned that he expects the CARB certification will be passed pretty quickly as there are very limited items to be tested in addition to EPA test albeit stricter rules.

I can see several contradicting things:
1. ALL (49 FE 1.0) FE 1.0 from Lotus Bellevue are on the ship from Lotus Bellevue. Lotus Glenview claims 11/40 cars are on bound and the rest are soon to be shipped.
2. The general consensus on the forum is that the CARB emission test is hard to pass and can take pretty long to get it done. While the GM claims that the CARB test is an easy one and it can be done pretty quickly.

I have a Supra coming next week, if Emira is gonna be here by Jan 2024, I will not take delivery of the Supra (I will be on travel for 3/4 of December and beginning of Jan). I am so frustrated by this situation. I can only keep one of the two, according to my wife…
If this is accurate, then that means my car is in that group. I'm in the second order group, so if they go by order number, I guess I can expect mine sometime in January. I'm going to ask my sales guy to send me a photo as soon as they get any cars in. If I can get him to do that, I'll post it in here so we'll have proof that at least some NA cars are here.

I'm also pissed other depositors at Naples have gotten shirts and I have not... I don't want to act spoiled but as a FE1 depositor I'm miffed

The irony of an ICE car delivery in winter.
Emira Frost Edition.

I get it people have been waiting a while with no communication - but why do yall think the dealers are all conspiring to lie that the cars have been shipped if they have not.. not sure why the dealers would all be wrong about this.
It's not that they are lying but that they don't have any more information than we do. The reason multiple dealers seem to be parroting the line that the cars are on a boat is that they probably heard it from a customer who read it on this forum or on Facebook. The fact that the dealers don't get any reliable info from Lotus has been demonstrated repeatedly in the past two years. They repeat and pass on rumors that they hear because they have nothing else to offer.

The more this forum discusses cars on a boat, the more dealers there will be that repeats this same "info".

I bet if we start talking about FE 2.0 being on the same boat, the dealers would start repeating this in about a week.

Seems like a big assumption to assume the dealer info is coming from the forums. Is it not more likely they are being told to prepare for incoming cars??

Xmas 24 or Xmas 24 please can you be more specific 🙂
Dang...I forgot to mention CY 23, aka FY 24. Aka Next month. Lotus please don't do CY 24...please.

Novas right. Dealers do troll here for info, as it's the most reliable source of information, and I'm being dead serious!

If that were true then why are they all reporting different information? 11 cars, 49 cars, shipped, not shipped, the list goes on. This is all just a game of telephone going around in circles. The fact that dealers never say where they get their information should be telling that it's probably made up or just a rumor.

Yup I’ve heard: 11 cars, 49 cars, 60 cars, all of the cars, none of the cars, every car sitting at port, they missed shipping by one day — just all sorts of random unsubstantiated nonsense. One of these things might be true or none of them might be true — we only know one fact — Lotus the manufacturer doesn’t care about any of the misinformation — it would be super easy to just send out a short message indicating where we are in the process for US deliveries.

Given what we directly experienced from the past two years, the dealers know less than we do. They admit to learning about news from customers who in turn get their news from this forum. It's not an assumption, it's a fact pattern demonstrated consistently across multiple dealers all over the country. The only exception is Gator Motorsports, and their current silence on the issue supports the likelihood that there has been no direct communications from Lotus about "cars on boats". They confirmed that US cars have been built, but specifically said that none have been shipped as of a couple of weeks ago.

Well, I'm an FE2.0 orderer from Nov. 2021. Going to be in Hethel first week of April 2024 for their Emira Introduction to Sports Cars class. Just booked lodging at Dunston Hall Hotel. Hoping to go learn how to properly drive this car, and then hopefully by the time I'm back in the states they have got their shit together and my car arrives. Probably a lofty goal based on how things are going, but if any of the above news is true, it may just play out that way.

Jesus, this thread is exploding. In the meantime, Porsche has sent me this! It will keep me busy while I wait for the Emira.
