USA/Canada Delivery Thread

My dealer responded:
- Maintains FE pricing
- I4 will have price increase
- Don’t think they know about UK price increases yet
- Have a dealer meeting March 8th
- More test drives in March
it now makes much more sense why Lotus only allocated 700 F/E's to North America. I was always confused by such a low number, comparatively to ROW and the size of the market. Also North America was the only market to have a allocation limit, while everywhere else it was based on timing. They knew the whole time what they were doing. Now, it makes complete sense. Still pissed that Lotus strung along thousands of deposit holders with quoted/advertised pricing. I have an email confirming Canadian Base V6 pricing from Lotus HQ from four months ago.

Oh I still think we’re going to see price increases in North America regardless of what our dealers know or have promised.

I’d buy curious to know what @GatorMotorsport is telling their customers now. They always seem in the know and open & communicative.

I could definitely understand a price increase; the world is a very different place than it was in July 2021. But I would think that if they wanted to increase on a locked-in FE order, they would have to give the buyer a chance to walk away with a full refund at that point. "Locked-in" should work both ways.

Gator should charge customers who don't have an order with them for up to date info. 🤣

Yea but a strong dollar is a part of this different world. They shouldn't harp on the cost increases while ignoring the exchange rate.

Just had a quick text exchange. They confirmed that FE's are price locked in US.

Or at least allow order changes

Your dealer confirmed this?
Sounds good to me.

Curious... how many allocation months have they distributed for NA FE's? What is the latest production month assigned with a confirmed order submitted and final deposit paid. Gators chart goes to July with October delivery. Curious if orders go beyond that. Also curious how many NA Emiras get made a month once started.

Yes, Gator is my dealer and they said it was only a UK thing and our FE prices are locked. Future orders will probably go the way of the UK pricing.
Thanks for reaching out and confirming that (y), gives me some hope here.

My understanding is that Gator's chart covers the entire FE production for the US. No firm orders go beyond that time.

If there is only 700 NA FE's and they start production in April with plans to have them all out by December with a 2 month shipping time from factory, that would give them approximately 7 months (April - October) to build 700 cars, about 3.5 cars a day per month. Not counting other cars in production seems doable, but we will find out SOON.

I think the production actually ends in July so that US delivery of FE's will be complete by end of October.

If original U.S. FE prices are locked, that keeps me in.

Something we have in the U.S. that they don't in the U.K. is, ALL V6 FE allocations for the U.S. are confirmed hard orders, not deposits. They're all non-refundable purchase commitment orders placed and accepted with Lotus. They had to be entered and set by the end of May last year I believe. I haven't heard from my dealer yet, but if Gator is saying that, then I would believe that's the case.

Yeah, I just said something about this on the 'other' thread. There was a four month window Mar-Jun where orders were placed. And every order received a confirmation back from Lotus accepting the order for production. What's odd is that some people here still think they've ordered an FE but their dealer wont confirm (or deny) with them. I guess some shady business and some unhappy customers as they wont be price protected nor get an FE

For those people who haven't gotten confirmation, unless you've got a "Approved Customer Submission ID" I wouldn't assume an order has been placed at all.

Yikes! Every US FE order is confirmed to a specific customer name, not a generic dealer order. If your dealer isn't providing you that confirmation email from Lotus USA you are probably SOL.
