USA/Canada Delivery Thread

This is the clearest statement about what’s happening (trust Gator to get it clarified). North America V6 FE cars where an order has been placed with the factory have a confirmed price at the original figure. Everything else is potentially increasing.
I just got the same confirmation from Bellevue.

I happen to be in Florida for the week, and Google being Google, the link to Lotus of Naples showed up at the top. They have FOUR Emiras for sale, which I imagine are the promo cars that were displayed.

those have been there for a long time, they’re not for sale

Except that the message states “plus options…” On my FE order, there were no prices for options and the assumption was that all “options” were included in the FE price. (Of course, shipping is not included).

Homelink was an option. Blackpack was an option. I believe there were a few options you could pay for even on FE

The FE spec includes a bundle of options.

On top of that, Homelink is a no-cost option on US V6 FE cars. Full Black Pack, Auto transmission, Alcantara steering wheel and tracker are cost options.

No prices listed…and selecting them did not change the “out the door” price. But I only selected the lower black pack…as well as Homelink and window tinting.

A couple have price tags on them. But if they're not NAFTA ready, they can't be sold.
I just looked. If you read the description under the price it says “click here for information about submitting your order….” It’s just an advertisement.

Correct.

Placed my deposit in July 2021 but because Canada doesn’t get many FE’s, at least not enough for me to get into the FE club I’m left waiting. If there weren’t all the delays I would probably be much closer to or even have an order by now. I’ve been ever hopeful but the whole thing is getting long in the tooth.

Still love the Emira but I want new wheels so I’m moving on for now. I don’t blame Lotus for the delays, just the way they’ve mishandled their communication channel to customers.

I may revisit Lotus for a future variant.

I wish Lotus and their dedicated customers all the best. And Lotus needs to remember that their customers...are the best!

I’m in the same boat, and feel your pain. I placed a deposit on July 12th, 2021.

In May of last year, I was told by Gator that I was 2 spots away from an FE allocation. In December, I was told that I was 5th in line for a base model. I’m unsure how that math works out, lol.

I’ve been waiting for so long that…I’ve had time to go visit the factory, which was a cool experience. I’ve went through a few life changes that kicked me out of the race/justification for a new toy, and now, all the way back to “I’m in.” The wait has allowed me to flip back and forth without “having” to make a decision. So, I guess that’s the silver lining. Lotus gifted me the ability to procrastinate.

It’s honestly comical at this point though. Now knowing that there’s going to be an additional price hike, and all the other delays…and I’m just here thinking “deposit confirmed 2 days after 2021 Goodwood and still missed the FE train.” Wtf

Still want the car though.

That sounds very strange that you were told you were 2 slots from a FE and then in #5 position for a base. In my mind their math doesn’t compute, even for the suspicious Lotus math.

The whole ordeal that depositors are going through is unbelievable and at this stage I don’t have any faith in anything I hear anymore.

The truth is out there, but we just can’t find it.

I shall continue to monitor the whole drama because it’s become a story that I need to find out how it ends. I hope it ends well for the faithful.

For me I’m moving to a predictable and very traceable ordering system which will give me peace of mind that I will have a new set of wheels by the end of 2023. And that’s a very good feeling.

All the best to you and your continued journey.

Sounds very similar to me. At deposit time I was told they didnt think I would get a FE allocation. Then a few months later when they officially got the allocations, I was told they got about what they thought but it changed slightly. I still didnt get a FE but had moved a few base slots.
I was a month or two after your deposit (and checked Gator too) and the dealers said they knew their FE slots were gone. Expecting the price hike to hit all BE though.

it is possible that an earlier depositer forfeited an F/E (or always wanted a base, not an F/E) slot for a base order.

I've seen anecdotal evidence from more than one dealer that the number of still-held deposits from 2021 is down by about half due to cancellations. Remember that for much of 2022, there was a string of reasons for cancellations - continued production delays, lukewarm or downright "frusTRAting" reviews, stock market downturn, crypto scandals, poor economic outlook, major layoffs from large tech companies, etc. Maybe Gator is just especially good at getting their buyers to not cancel? Gator has always been a top-notch business based on what I've heard, so there must be a rational reason.

Earlier depositors requested to wait for a Base/non-FE Emira.

Your deposit date (and time) trumps all in our reservation list. We've been honest & working straight down the list since the beginning.

If any of our depositors have questions/concerns about their place in the queue, please call me directly at (317) 245-6312.

Great Job on staying on top of that @GatorMotorsport .... now if only some GTA dealers **Oakville** would be as open and clear with its customers would be great.

We've been sitting at about the same number of deposits for a while now, very slowly creeping up in total number. For every reservation that gets canceled, a new depositor (or two) joins the list. And there are others interested but haven't committed yet because the wait is so long (quoting delivery in 2+ years for new depositors). It has indeed become a waiting game. Those who can wait the longest will get their car the soonest. Hang in there, guys. I promise it'll be worth it!

I’m going to give them a shameless plug because I’m a big Gator supporter. They are small but work very hard to make the customer experience a good one! At last count I’ve bought 9 cars from them and sold 12 through them. I know several people who are multi-vehicle buyers from them as well. They aren’t the absolutely least expensive dealership, but it’s worth the extra pennies to deal with them. I'm sure #10 Emira will be the same!

They do almost all my service work, too, regardless of marque. A lot of people in the Indy car community use them exclusively for service and track day set-up.

I was told by dealer at deposit that if someone above me cancelled, that spot would be offered to anyone below that position for a premium cost to move up to that spot. I havent seen any offerings and was told at the test drive (Dec22) that no one above me has cancelled but they had one or two below that had. It was my understanding if I didnt pay to move up on the list I'd stay where I was regardless of cancellations.
