USA/Canada Delivery Thread

I still think the right thing to do is move people up at no cost as others drop off. I think any selling of slots is shady regardless.
Agree. Remember, these are the folks you want to service your vehicle for years to come. Dealers are allowed to be dealers, yes, but there must be something in the Lotus Brand agreement about these things. Actions like this reflect poorly on the Brand not just the dealer.

Me too on how it should work, there aren't many car dealers that look out for anyone but themselves.

There should be black bump outs on either side of the rear license plate mounting point too.
I really hope those are easily removed. If its like the ones on the Aston Vantage, they are comically ugly... but taking them off in the Vantage's case doesn't leave too much of a sign that they were ever there.

Same. I've reached out to CS and Lotus of US numerous times asking for photos, but they don't have any. Which makes me assume none have been produced yet and further makes me assume the NA certification process hasn't even started.

I’m gonna be certifiable if I can’t get my damn car

Did they say anything about their dealer demo? In November, they said it would arrive in March. I’m assuming that’s no longer happening.
I didn't ask. They had also said March a few months ago.

Put my first deposit down Feb 1st of this year. Was told multiple times that I would likely have the car by the end of the year. I hope it happens but realistically it'll be much later 🤞

Wow that dealer is optimistic . 2021 deposit and I'd be thrilled if I got mine before March 2024.

Right? I made my deposit summer 2021 and was told Spring 2022 for delivery. 😂 I suppose lots of folks are dropping off though.

Any orders submitted early this year, I would expect delivery to be closer to the end of 2024. Base price has not even been announced yet for the US market.

My Dallas dealer doesn't seem to want respond to this question. Maybe someone here has facts, opinions are fine also. So I put my deposit down for an FE Manual V6 Feb 1st 2022 and then received confirmation from Lotus mid March 2022. On Feb 1st 2022 I was #110 on the list. As of today I am #68. I've asked dealer how many FEs they plan to receive because at #68 I assume they most be receiving many. They responded that he does not know how many they are getting "let me ask and get back to you". So question is... when they start NA production do we know if they will keep with deposit order regardless of dealer allocation? Example if Dallas has 100 deposits in March and Naples has 100 deposits in March plus add up every dealer for NA in March...will they make 200+ cars and start deliver before they start the next batch of deposits April etc. Depending on how many deposits are in for just March 22 could be a long wait for deposits for FEs after March. Thanks

Dont see how you would get a FE anywhere in USA if you didnt have a June-July 2021 deposit. I think my dealer got 12 FE allocations (they knew that in Feb 2022) and were gone almost immediately. Unless you have submitted an official order (not a deposit) to Lotus you are very likely getting a base.
That dealer seems kind of clueless. Mine can tell me how many FE they are getting. How many cars they're expecting to get per month. So guessing when you'll get car (once finally the dealer starts getting cars) should be able to estimate.

The dealer that got the most V6 FE's allocated was Naples I believe, and they got 70. The next was Park Place in Bellevue and they got 45. Everyone else got less on down the line, depending on their sales record with Lotus. All the FE slots were accounted for by around July 10, 2021, and every allocated car had to have been hard ordered (not a deposit) in 3 groups; first in March 2022, second in April 2022 (I'm in this group), and the last by the end of May 2022. There were no additional FE order slots available after that.

All of the above orders were actual customer orders, not dealer inventory orders.

As far as production, Lotus is supposed to be building cars based on those 3 order months from last year. The first batch ordered in March of last year, is supposed to go into production in March of this year. Second batch goes into production in April, and the last batch in May. Deliveries of the first batch are supposed to arrive in June of this year, second batch in July, last batch in August. At least that's what we're being told at the moment, and barring any further delays, that's what we're expecting in the U.S.

Does anyone else feel waking up to constant alerts and comms and then seeing they‘re not about an Emira update but rather trying to garner interest in the Eletre are a huge slap in the face having experienced being hung out to dry as soon as they’ve got our deposits?

Dallas got 30 FE allocations. Dollars to donuts that #68 is where you are now for the Base configuration as the FE customers are no longer in the queue. The first round of Base allocations will be somewhat similar to FE numbers so you are likely going to be second round of those. Best guess- you will confirm a configuration later this year and take delivery by spring 2024.

I expect them to 'market' (as bad as it is) the Eletre more now since they have years of Emira orders. It is a shame they're not doing more to keep Emira customers with orders informed about what's going on. Such as photos or stories of USA customer cars in production, total # of cars delivered and photos of their holding lot of completed cars to make it look like they are making cars. I'd rather be officially informed things arent going smoothly rather than nothing.

I believe I was at the tail end of the FE queue, because I ordered mine in May 2022. And when I say order, I mean I placed a 2nd deposit of $10k down against a specific vehicle configuration, all of which was separate from the initial reservation deposit back in 2021.

It’s not clear from your message if you’re saying you placed a first (reservation) deposit, or if you placed an order. One easy way to tell is, an order specifies your car. The dealer would have asked you to configure the car online and submit your spec to them, and confirmed all of that with you (color, transmission, suspension, interior, etc). If this hasn’t happened, you don’t have an order you have a reservation and the FE orders have closed.
