USA/Canada Delivery Thread

I'm a late I4 depositor (late 22), but I think I am mentally out. I was originally assuming that I would get a car in late 24/early 25, but with the delays, I am starting to doubt even that is achievable. At ~$75k, the price was compelling, but if it increases ~$10k, I can't see myself not just getting a Cayman instead, even though I like the Emira more from a styling perspective.

Dealer just got me for $2500 for now, though, so I am going to sit on the reservation and see what happens, I guess.
Cayman’s are nice, you should get one today. Be on the road this weekend peacocking away. Enjoy 😊

Well at the new price the competition includes the 911, which - like the Cayman - are nice vehicles.

Actually, the initial lead time was a bit of selling point; just got in a new 2 Series BMW in March of 22. Unfortunately not ready to upgrade just yet, although the prospect is alluring. The logic behind depositing late was that by the time late 2024/early 2025 rolled around, I would be ready for a new car. That's also driving the decision to sit on the deposit for now; hey, if the unlikely scenario in which the timeline still holds occurs, I may still want the car.

My guess…and it’s just that, is that for anyone who drops out that FE spot will go for the new price. Even for early deposit holders offered the chance to move up l It won’t be at the early price.
This looks likely. I think them updating the new pricing is a way for them to;

1. entice existing FE orders not to cancel due to more delays (by way of them seeing added value in their old pricing)
2. If they do request refunds they get to charge the next guy in line the new pricing.

Silver Lining, maybe we now know what a fully loaded base Emira is going to cost next year?

No just as it reads. $5k deposit Oct 7 2022 first time intial
I don’t think you have an order…Gentry hasn’t even taken orders for #15 on their list which would be pre July 2021 deposit. They’ve maybe taken orders for the 10 FE allocations they got, beyond #10 or 12 on their list it’s a base edition and I don’t think they’ve began to fill out order sheets thus far.

It’s been a few days since I checked the forum and came back to a Throttle House review and 10k price increase.

The Lotus Emira is officially the car I hate to lust.

Hate for Lotus HQ remains (and continues to grow). Lust (now-reignited thanks to TH) remains. Deposit remains too. For now.

That last bit feels like an empty threat to one of my kids. Damn you Lotus for giving me so much angst.

Yesterday was brutal. The TH review was so exciting and one of the best so far, but then the news leaked about the price hike (doesn't affect my order) and further delays (Nov-Dec) really hurt me. I'm so sick of Lotus and their lack of planning and slow progress. NA type approval isn't some unexpected task that needed to be completed last minute. How are they going to tell dealers and buyers that cars will be delivered Spring 2022, July 2022, October 2022, March 2023, July 2023, and now it's Nov 2023 without even starting the NA spec certification process?

I spoke with my dealer yesterday and confirmed I can have my deposits refunded whenever I want (and he's had others do so already), but I will leave it in place until I find something else. Just like last year, I'm not looking forward to taking my Emira delivery just so it can sit all winter.

The TH review really hit what most of us are thinking with the Emira. Do we keep the order/deposit or cancel. In the end, they think it's a brilliant car, but show they do not have confidence in Lotus themselves. I myself flip flop back and forth.

I am still in. But, I also ordered another Porsche which is arriving in May. So it is a little easier for me to say this.

Sometimes I think this process must have been similar to ordering a Ferrari in the 60's & 70's or a Porsche. When they had tiny dealer networks, hand built cars and reliability issues. Even though everyone else has moved on, Lotus is stuck in a period in time that no longer exists. Does this add to the charm or the incompetence? I don't know.

What I do know is the company management is mediocre, the CS is terrible, the dealer network is tiny and the build quality questionable.

But it's still a very special car. The designers are outstanding, the sports car driving character is some of the best I have experienced and it's rarity and beauty is truly spectacular.

There is passion built into this machine, no doubt about it. I'll wait a little while longer.

So do we have an official update ? What’s changed ? Who gets the price increase ? When will cars be delivered ?

I’m totally confused on this delivery and price increase BS
Has anyone in US had an email from their dealer on delivery schedule for the FE others than April May and June production
Also for FE deposits and orders is their going to be a price increase.
If price increase then I’m out.
Considering a Subaru BRZ with Hoonigan modifications as a track car

Better bet for a dedicated track toy anyway. My $25k GTI is a blast on track and I'm not crying (too much) when I break something or need new tires/pads more frequently.

And no, no one has gotten any official comms yet. I doubt we'll see any deliveries this year and most (even those with orders in) will probably be hit with a price increase down the line (based on recent UK buyers' experiences).

I am a Aug 2022 Base deposit holder. Just received this email from Lotus USA. It doesn’t really provide any additional information except that they anticipate me being able to configure/order in the fall. Also, not sure what “ becoming a priority Emira customer” means as I haven’t done anything but wait like everyone else. Hopefully, @GatorMotorsport will send out an update in the near future with new info.
