USA/Canada Delivery Thread

Day 1061 and hoping to see my Emira today!

Hoped to finally drive it on my birthday which was the past Saturday, March VIN, finally arrived in Baltimore on May 13 unannounced (dealer would have told me if they knew), got 6 of 12 from that shipment on Weds last week - wanted to be there for the arrival and it wasn’t on that truck. Dealership told me they would let me know when the other truck would arrive which was usually next day but they got crickets from the rep, then the truck arrived unannounced on Saturday per their instagram (my dealer wasn’t in that day), I rushed over to see it and they were closed and new cars put in the basement - didn’t realize they were only open until 3 and I got there at 3:15. Would have been a sweet b-day surprise to see it…ow well. SO…today may be the day 🤞.

Of course this is the week my PPF/Ceramic guy is away teaching a course in San Diego, hope to have it transported early next week, probably 3 weeks til driving it :). My internal prediction was always that 666 on the thread is when I’ll be able to drive it lol.

Hooray! We collected our Emira Friday evening. It's already dirty, so I'll post a few photos after I clean it.

I'm trying to put the Emira key fob onto the keychain that Lotus sent. I see that there is an embedded post on the fob, but I don't see how to put the little ring on without splitting the key fob. I tried taking the emergency key out and prying on it. It moved but it didn't come apart. I decided to seek advice rather than damage it. Any solutions?

Not saying this is the one, I may simply use something like this.

Excuse the dirt - My correction/PPF/ceramic guy asked to have the car delivered dirty next week.

My super common spec with a slight wrinkle by getting the privacy glass delete like the show car, believe it or not the first I’ve seen my spec as everyone ordering it seems to have gone for the privacy glass. Last pic from the dealer when the truck dropped them off on Saturday (back right).

Everything looked good on my walk around other than the hood is misaligned as seen - assume fairly simple correction the dealership can do (makes you wonder what kind of PDI they do in Hethel lol). Likely finish the paperwork tomorrow and have it transported for PPF at the start of next week.

Anyone else receive their cars or know if the cars have arrived to the dealership from the 5/13 shipment?

Hi, I know some Emira owners have issue with brake disc (missing chunk of brake pad) associated with cars sitting long before delivery. (Car arrived at Baltimore 3/29, took delivery 5/25).

Can you guys take a look at my photo and confirm if this is what it looks like. This is on my left-front brake disc but not on any other 3 brake discs.

TIA.

Came across earlier today...dealership in Nashville has several Emiras available, but there appear to be a dealership markup at least on the one they have loaded the pricing information:

https://www.lotuscarsnashville.com/2024/Lotus/Emira/SCCLEKAX5RHB10645 (list price is $114,900)
https://www.lotuscarsnashville.com/2024/Lotus/Emira/SCCLEKAX7RHB10467 (contact for pricing)

My order form included a statement that if my dealership considered me to be a dealer, remarketer, or if they perceive I have the intention whether perceived or real of selling the Vehicle for a profit the dealership reserves the right at it’s sole discretion to terminate the agreement and refund customer deposit and both parties will return to their pre-existing conditions. But this dealership is clearly marking up the price and due to the mileage reading they are listing both vehicles as Used.

Yes, this looks like the result of a fractured brake pad.

Well, I just joined the defective brake pad club!

Right side front rotor. Inside surface is fine. Car only has 400 miles on it. Closest service center (Chicago) is 400 miles away. They need to see the car in person to decide how to handle this (which I get).

Brakes are a consumable. Where do I find OEM front brake pads? The rotor is fine (I think the little chunk of brake pad would easily machine away at any brake shop). It just doesn't make sense for me to make an 800 mile round trip to address this. The rest of the brakes are fine. I'm KICKING myself that I didn't notice this when I took delivery.

Never occurred to me to check the inside-sides of the rotors. Thanks for the perspective

I ordered my Emira from Nashville. There was no markup on a new one. Those two listed are indeed used. They dont appear to be 'orphaned'. Looks like someone took delivery and then returned/sold them back. They can ask whatever they want as ridiculous as it may seem.

Sorry to say, you have the brake cancer too.

I didn’t take pictures but most of the newly delivered cars had rotars that weren’t fully round. Like at one part it was not circular like a small piece missing but smooth to the touch. Is that normal or an issue?

That’s common in the exotic sales industry, however I’ve only really seen it done on like a Porsche GT3 RS or other ultra desirable exotic because they have a contract to not sell new cars over MSRP but with used, anything goes.
