USA/Canada Delivery Thread

Just did the first wash. I could have spent another couple hours cleaning some of the more obscure spots and removing leftover adhesive around the doors and on the wheels.

I'm addicted, it is a blast to drive. The touring suspension is firmer than my 997, I think sport would be too much for me on the street. All the sounds of the motor, the single mass flywheel and the supercharger are intoxicating. I need to stop writing and go drive it.

Dude that car is BEAUTIFUL. Well done.

Is 5 months from submitting order to factory to receiving VIN what others have experienced? What about those that recently submitted orders like from a new Dealership?
5 months was on the money for me (details below), but I'd suspect that past performance does not predict future build times. The CARB debacle and bridge collapse occurred smack in the middle of my timeline, so who knows how much delay those events accounted for. Hopefully your timeline is even better now that Lotus seems to have found a groove on US/Canada builds.

I submitted my order on 12/15/24 and received my VIN and notice that my car was on the water 5/15/24. Boat docked in Baltimore on 5/26/24 and now I'm waiting for that final leg to my Lotus dealer in Glenview IL.

Well, I just joined the defective brake pad club!

Right side front rotor. Inside surface is fine. Car only has 400 miles on it. Closest service center (Chicago) is 400 miles away. They need to see the car in person to decide how to handle this (which I get).

Brakes are a consumable. Where do I find OEM front brake pads? The rotor is fine (I think the little chunk of brake pad would easily machine away at any brake shop). It just doesn't make sense for me to make an 800 mile round trip to address this. The rest of the brakes are fine. I'm KICKING myself that I didn't notice this when I took delivery.
I just ordered EBC Yellow pads from GregsRaceParts. It's just faster, easier, and all things considered cheaper for me.

Did the VIN & Shipping notice come from Lotus or the dealer?

Does not feel real.

Pictures do not do this spec justice. I am in love with it.

The idea behind the spec was “gentleman’s racer”. A classy valet color with race car trimmings. i think it pulls it off. It’s mean, in a sophisticated way.

Anyway, some things I’ve noticed now that I’ve lived with it for a few hours.

The 12V socket behind the arm rest does not fit American 12v things.

The seatbelt sensor in the passenger seat is ultra sensitive and thinks someone is sitting there unrestrained if my phone is resting on it.

I have the steering clunk on full lock.

The shifter feels better than early units. Super snicky and pedal placement is such a delight for rev matching.

I probably should have got the leather wheel. Alcantara feels special tho.

Sport suspension is perfect. I braced myself for a crash over some rough pavement and it glided right over. Wish it had a bit more feedback through the wheel though.

What a stunning thing this car is.

Nimbus does SUCH a great job of showing off the body lines of this car. Beautiful spec. Congrats man!

Heres my car, haven't seen it in person yet- nimbus, black pack, v6 manual, tan interior, black wheels, yellow calipers, sport.
Beautiful Car. My spec is almost the Identical. I'm auto, silver wheels without black package. When are collecting it, I loved to see the Nimbus Gray in person.

Did the VIN & Shipping notice come from Lotus or the dealer?
The on the water notice came direct from my dealer via email. They did not provide the ship name, but happily supplied my VIN after I directly asked for it. As for confirmation of arrival in Baltimore, our man @Nova posted that info a day after the ship had docked.......his list for certain is the most up to date!

Did you go with sport or touring? Coming from someone who has a gt3, how does the emira suspension harshness and handling compare? Thanks!
992 gt3 is way too harsh and stiff to drive around the city or on poor US interstates. I can only drive it on fresh paved asphalt to have peace.
Emira (mine is sport) on the other hand, is super complaint in comparison. Suspension is firm but not overly harsh. I drove pass by some pretty f***ed up roads and I can tolerate it. I am very happy with the sport suspension.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ve been asking everyone with the sport suspension if too harsh and most people are saying the same that it’s good. It’s the only choice in my spec I was concerned about

Same here. It registers if I place my phone there. Interesting though I have a tote that I often keep in the passenger seat and it doesn't seem to register that. I don't know if maybe the phone's electronics or MagSafe case is interacting with the sensor or maybe it's the fact that the tote is there all the time...even before the car is started.

Hey @Nova one of the most frequent questions I get is how many Emiras there are in the country. I know it's not the same as customer deliveries, but I was wondering if you had a running total of the car VINs shipped to NA.

So looks like my car just arrived in Baltimore on 6/3 per Nova's list (thank you!!!!). Is it roughly a month till delivery from here? Super excited to finally get the car! I ordered thru Gator

It's still anybody's guess as far as I can tell. When I was there 10 days ago, they had quite a few Emiras they were working to deliver to customers, but I haven't been able to piece together enough information from Gator or any other dealer to make an educated guess. I've heard they had 90 allocations and Tony told me they'd delivered around 30. But someone else heard that same number several weeks earlier. If you think of it, please share updates as you get information and hopefully you'll have your Emira soon!

Oh, there's also a separate Gator thread if you're interested. https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/the-gator-thread.4451/
