Sadly, but yes; Turbos in Q1 2025.I don't think we'll see any shipments of I4 cars until the CARB EO has been issued, which is anticipated to be sometime in December.
Exactly….Sadly, but yes; Turbos in Q1 2025.
Perhaps Lotus will ship them ahead of CARB approve to get them staged for dealer delivery ASAP.
Another gripe is my Emria will always be garaged once delivered, however for 6 months it's going to sitting outside. gerrrrrr.
If it's actually on the water, it's usually about two weeks for the shipment from Liverpool to Baltimore, and then another 2-3 weeks from Baltimore to the dealer (depending on your location). When I was working with Lotus directly for my VIN, they said multiple times they only provided it when the boat was on the water... I've had mine for over a month now and it was definitely not on the water when I got it, but given the sequencing of VINs it'll hopefully be here on one of the next couple boats. This has been an interesting process to say the least. Salesman send random text message asking how my day was going; 30 minutes later I was advised my car is "On the Water".
940 days and counting...but car is at the end of the rainbow
- I paid the Initial deposit on 11 Apr 22
- Received build allocation on 29 May 24
- Second deposit paid on 29 May 24
- Submitted Build Specs on 30 May 24
- Dealer submitted Build Specs on 31 May 24
- I made several inquiries since Build Specs were submitted with no real update
- Received random text from my salesmen and 30 minutes latter was advised my car was "On the Water" notification; which I was thankful, but I asked can you provide transit time estimates from demarcation port to US port and estimate from US port to dealership. At this point, I am looking for estimates only as nothing has been exact throughout this entire experience.
Thanks for the timeline estimates. I wasn't provided with a VIN, so I will take a wait and see approach and I am hopeful the next call is the car is at the dealership. If it's actually on the water, it's usually about two weeks for the shipment from Liverpool to Baltimore, and then another 2-3 weeks from Baltimore to the dealer (depending on your location). My second build spec was also submitted 2024-05-31 so we might end up being on the same boat
Love that 2nd shot! Finally took delivery today!

Just got notified a new batch arrived in Baltimore yesterday. Some more US cars were delivered to Baltimore MD on 10/29, only 18 cars this time and still just V6 cars. I don't think we'll see any shipments of I4 cars until the CARB EO has been issued, which is anticipated to be sometime in December. Click on the image for the tracking sheet with VIN.

It hasn't shown up on my searches yet. So far, I see two shipment of spare parts in November, no cars.Just got notified a new batch arrived in Baltimore yesterday.
I would expect it pretty soon. I put in my build/order on June 3rd and my dealer called me today saying it will be there this week. FE V6 ManualThis has been an interesting process to say the least. Why do you want to cancel if it has been a 28 year dream? I get the frustration of waiting, we have all been that road, but for me I can't explain the joy of finally receiving my car.Warning...emotional word vomit below:
My dealer refuses to cancel my order and refund my $15k deposit. I feel there should be some legal protection in that I ordered a 2024 and it won't be delivered until 2025. Many of you play in the supercar sandbox but not me as the income has never been there. I've dreamed of owning a Lotus for 28 years (1st saw one when I was 20), and I finally had a life event that could make it possible, and rather than being an amazing experience, I've just been disheartened and frustrated. I tried talking to an attorney about it and he said it'll cost me $15k just in legal fees to try and get my $15k back.
Something that was supposed to be a milestone event in my life filled with joy for all my hard work to get here...has instead been frustrating, exhausting, and now I am just hoping to get this over with.
Ok, back to work.
Because then I could just buy a Cayman or similar and be able to enjoy it. I'm not getting younger, and each day is a day I'm missing out on the experience. As crazy as this sounds, I've also considered buying an early 90s Toyota MR2 and doing a full interior and powerplant upgrade as I think that could be a fun project. Why do you want to cancel if it has been a 28 year dream? I get it. The purchase experience isn’t really about the Lotus ownership as it is with other exotic brands. If you read the Lotus Talk posts from the Elise release and the Evora release you will see the same gripes. Those all disappear once you have your car. Driving is the Lotus experience.Warning...emotional word vomit below:

Sorry to hear that you put 15k down...I put 2K down and if I changed my mind at this point I would just eat 2k deposit.Warning...emotional word vomit below:

Given the amount I gather you’re past the deposit phase (usually a couple thousand) and have actually placed an order (usually 10% of purchase price). That is the point it generally becomes non-refundable as they are starting to make a car custom to your taste. If you truly want out, that is unfortunate. I wish you luck with the dealer. I will echo the comments from others that the car is awesome and definitely worth the wait / lotus buying experience.Warning...emotional word vomit below:

That is why I bought this car, the only car I've driven that reminds me of my old 91' Toyota MR2 Turbo, but faster.Because then I could just buy a Cayman or similar and be able to enjoy it. But yes...the sunk cost of waiting this long makes me continue to bounce back and tell myself, "Just a couple more months."
I think there may have been a delay on it given it looks like it was an abnormally large shipment. I'm showing 66 cars delivered (including mine, huzzah!) with the following VINs (ACLUSA01103497):It hasn't shown up on my searches yet. So far, I see two shipment of spare parts in November, no cars.
