USA/Canada Delivery Thread

It is up to each dealership to determine which orders to place and the order in which they are placed. We are going straight down the list from oldest to newest— no "awarded to the highest bidder" or cutting in line here... LC USA is mostly just verifying who still holds a reservation and the total number of current reservations at each dealership, or in other words, removing cancellations from their books.

Did your rep also confirm production begins August now?

I just contacted our sales rep at Lotus Cars USA, who stated that "FE V6 2.0" allocations have not been released to anyone yet. We are still waiting to receive our allocations as well. The only official news we've received since the N.A. Dealer Conference in March was to inform us of the updated configurator (w/ new paint colors & updated FE V6 pricing). Dealers' current reservation lists were 'audited' earlier this month, which is a sign that allocations are coming soon. Anything beyond that came from the rumor mill..!
Helpful, Thanks.
In lieu of car production, we have Rumor Mill activity. Cue 2nd shift of same.
I had this bizarre fantasy that Lotus Cars US would be pampering the NA depositor/customer base with regular (if not frequent) communications notes. Example: 2nd generation color choices now available to obsess over.
If I wanted to feel ignored I'd get a cat. (yes, resist writing to me about that).

Brutal, we have a dealer in the thread and you guys arent holding any punches lol

@GatorMotorsport knows we love them. They are enthusiasts themselves and take care of their customers and even folks who haven't purchased from them.

I'm sure dealers are frustrated with the lack of updates from HQ and the constant delays. Especially when Gator was kind enough to immediately report back the news they received at the LA dealer meeting a couple months ago. Of course we were told production would begin in May (not April as previously stated) and now it's sounding like August.

For the life of me I can't understand why Lotus of US doesn't properly communicate these updates to customers. It took me calling and emailing the head of US sales to get answers to my questions. I love the cars but really starting to hate the company. 😔

To be fair, I did see a screenshot of an order submission which I’m sure is legit. Lack of clarity on what’s meant by communication in the Lotus world is clearly (unclearly) how things are done. I’m happy to hear anything at all and makes me hopeful I’ll see a car before I’m dead.

As before Lotus is communicating by there silence that they don’t care about what customers are saying.

That's very odd. What is the MSRP listed on the order submission form?

@GatorMotorsport : I have contacted LCNA to no avail but I would like to know how many i4 FE cars are destined for the US. Have dealers been given a number? We are aware of 700 V6 FE 1.0 and, I assume number, of allocations per dealer. We also know of 600 V6 FE 2.0 cars and, I assume, allocations have not been made to dealers thus far. What about the total number of i4 FE cars?

I just received a nice care package from @GatorMotorsport as a thank you for my patience!

Good for you and kudos to them for the courtesy. Gator is the high water mark.
I wonder if Lotus has thought about a Dealer of the Year award?
I assume you are waiting on a FE 1.0 due in 4 Q 2023?

They are top notch, in my opinion. I've dealt with them for years and it's always a great experience. Yes, I have a factory order, but I don't dare say when it's actually due anymore.

Maybe @GatorMotorsport can open a location in Norther. California. Our dealers here take the deposit and then radio silence.

If the Lotus mothership is monitoring (and assume with connection to the PRC you always do), do you see how people respect and appreciate Gator Motorsports just for providing updates and being transparent? Even those of us that do not have deposits with them hold them in the highest regard.

Just saying that in case you are wondering how to improve your business model, taking a cue from Tony and the Gator staff might be a good place to start.

You may have to translate your message to Mandarin 😀

I know they have deposits on the Emira from all over the country. And I also know that people drive from multiple states away to get their Lotus serviced there!

It's true I ordered from gator and my car will be registered in New England. Flew in to take a test drive last week!

Don’t think that’s necessary. Geely probably need to take over completely at Lotus. Imho they will get things done.
They are monitoring what is going on and see the situation.
I believe in the next few months they will make positive changes. They don’t need the brand getting all the negativity that is coming from this forum.
