USA/Canada Delivery Thread

That’s being optimistic for Dec Jan
At this rate NA will not see a car before at least April or May
That’s assuming Lotus will even deliver any cars to the States
I’m starting to seriously look for a GT4.
I’m going to be old before this car arrives.

Dealer called with some updates and answers to my questions:
  • What is the current status of NA/US certification? No updates, but they're estimating ~December for first deliveries (yeah right)
  • When is US V6 production starting and when will deliveries actually happen? Production for US begins in August
  • Will the cars delivered to the Baltimore port be stored indoors while we wait for certification release? Yes
  • Can I change my FE1.0 color to one of the new 7 paint options without time or price increase? Absolutely not
So... there's that. No customer comms until the inevitable last minute delay email and to expect a winter delivery. Same as last year.

1. Awful
2. Winter is coming, part iii
3. I’ve no alternatives desired and the Evora has gone up in value so that’s ok
4. Soon
5. July 7 will be 2 years and that’s only crazy because we were supposed to be driving the Emira in the US by now

What the process is starting to feel like for the NA customers.

So, now that the goalpost has officially moved, we can begin to speculate the new position of the goalpost come August when we start hearing about Lotus moving up production of non-US base models.

I enjoy seeing some of the meetups our fellow forum members in the U.K. are having, and wonder what a U.S. equivalent would look like. At this point all I get are images of a bunch of now older, weary, and heavily drinking ex-car enthusiasts commiserating over what could have been. I'll bring the chips.

They're all probably old british men, roided out from bicep and pectoral day at the gym after their power steering went out.

I'm sure not only those British men bring their cars to car meet but they happily also show off their very beautiful teeth. That golden yellow teeth they brag and compare who has more tartar than the other emira drivers 😁

When I went to the annual HRE Wheels Open House event, this year, there were what looked like thousands of young, old, and everything in between there. Exotic cars were everywhere. Can you imagine the contrast to such an event that included primarily EV SUVs and sedans?

Hoping to get a sentiment check. Deposited on an I4 early December 22 in SoCal. Have been mentally accounting for Q1-2025 delivery. Seem feasible for you guys given recent news/delays?

I think that is realistic.

Dealer contacted me yesterday to say they received their FE2.0 allocations and he submitted my order request.
Did he mention the total amount of allocations?
Where were you on his list: x out of y?
Was a production or delivery date stated?
No discussion of changing to new colors?
Thanks,

Just contacted my sales guy. He said he spoke to Lotus rep yesterday and that FE 2.0 and I4 allocations will be going out within the next two weeks. Also said the first U.S. Emira deliveries are on schedule for October.

I spoke to my dealer a few minutes ago and the word from them is still late Q4 2023-early Q1 2024 for first FEs in the U.S. but he also admittedly said they haven't heard any material updates from Lotus since the meeting in California in March.
