Can Lotus get around CARB cert requirements if they sell them as glider chassis kits? ; )Quite frankly if they want to ship us the parts I’m sure we have enough people here than can put them together faster.

I'm seeing emiras delivered on 7/18 and 8/11
Edit: obviously these were testers/tech training units
Of what year?
I just meant over all in general. Hethel is a tail that does not wag the dog.I am not sure I can agree with you. China has 200 3.5 Mt FE Emiras allocated back in May. It is still not all sold out yet. They are delivering 2.0T Emiras now but cars are sitting on the floor. Lotus EV is a different story, Eletres that are currently selling in China is made in China. I don't think that will interfere business over at Hethel.
The US has 700 FE1.0 and 600 FE 2.0, that is probably the biggest Emira market.
Yes agree but that’s because it’s a very short tailI just meant over all in general. Hethel is a tail that does not wag the dog.
My point is the EV business has minimal impact on Emira. Lotus produces 40 Emiras a day, 4 days a week, say 40 weeks a year, that is equal to 6400 cars a year. It is 640 million US dollar per year business, I wouldn't think this business is tail, at least before Lotus EV in full production.I just meant over all in general. Yea, we just have to raid local junk yard for the donor 2GR-FE engine. Can Lotus get around CARB cert requirements if they sell them as glider chassis kits? ; )
That's revenue, but is it profitable? Remember Lotus UK laid off 200 people recently. Even though USA has proven it's the revenue generator the UK has always not cared enough to do basic paperwork to sell cars here properly. Elise launch delays for 1+ years, Evora launch delays, Evora 400 delays causing gap years, and Evora GT gap years, now Emira years long delays. They sure do treat the USA market special when it's the place that saves their bacon every single time.My point is the EV business has minimal impact on Emira. I love the “should” makes me feel like their info is from anyone but lotus. You’d think they’d have a bit more specifics…Just in from my dealer per my inquiry about Emira status.
"I’m happy to confirm that the first cars are already at the port we should see the first ones and our demo by mid December."
Hope springs eternal!
I feel like some of those numbers don't add up.I placed my order in Sept 23 and I have already submitted my config for the March 24 I4 production with arrival in June/Jul 25.

No, only 14 states follow CARB standards. My salesman heard that it's possible Lotus will begin deliveries to non-CARB states first, if signoff doesn't happen by the time the first cars arrive. He expects that all the cars will be imported at Baltimore.just a quick question, does the entire country have to pass california air resource board (CARB) for import? Or that's because the port of which the cars are being delivered to is at california, so it HAS to pass CARB.
