Probably not for a while nowWhen should we expect the next ship to arrive in Baltimore with VIN’s?
Can they dock anywhere else to unload in the meantime? (Long Beach?)Probably not for a while now
Long Beach is all the way on the west coast. They would have to sail through Panama canal. No way they would do that. Can they dock anywhere else to unload in the meantime? (Long Beach?)
So discharge at NY???
I am thinking more like Norfolk, because the cars are loaded with anticipated unloading order. Unless they can get everyone to agree to unload in NY, they would have to shuffle cargo around to get the cars out from those that are continuing onto Norfolk. So I am betting all the Baltimore cars gets unloaded at Norfolk. Norfolk is also very close to Baltimore - in fact the ship literally pass by Norfolk on its way to Baltimore. So discharge at NY???
Mine too. No idea when I’ll get it, perhaps in the next decade.Well, my car has been here since 12/29 and I still don’t have it or a date when I’ll get it.
Which dealer are you at? I’m assuming it’s the same one. Have you heard anything other than the 2 “don’t call us… we’ll call you” emails?Mine too. No idea when I’ll get it, perhaps in the next decade.
Cape Fear in Wilmington, NC. I stopped by there a couple of weeks ago and there was no update available. I don’t believe that they know what sequence the cars will arrive in. There were perhaps a dozen on their front lot so no availability for additional storage I’m thinking. No emails.Which dealer are you at? I’m assuming it’s the same one. I’m at Gator, but it’s the same situationCape Fear in Wilmington, NC. I stopped by there a couple of weeks ago and there was no update available. Hope history isn't any indication... because we all know what that means.
There is MORE of the bridge that could fallI don't think the bridge can fall down again.
There are several secondary ports at Norfolk (collectively the "Port of Virginia") that could take the load as well. There's a significant RoRo terminal at Newport News that could possibly absorb very large auto cargo offload for multiple brands.I am thinking more like Norfolk, because the cars are loaded with anticipated unloading order. This is my situation too I believe based on me researching my VIN. I am just being patient. After almost 3 years I can wait another 3 months, no problem.Well, my car has been here since 12/29 and I still don’t have it or a date when I’ll get it.
Not necessarily. The port inspection can happen anywhere, the port operating companies do this professionally for all the different manufacturers. Worst case scenario they may need a few folks to travel, but that's only if Lotus had some dedicated staff doing something quite unusual. So I would assume if they unloaded at Norfolk, they would have to be transported to Baltimore for PDI, then transported to dealer... Correct?
