What did you do to your Emira today?

This actually makes a bit of sense.
Not so much: maybe nearby but not adjacent.
Its generally understood distinctive cars want to be left alone, so no real need to buddy-up. Minding personal space applies to vehicles too. Not everyone knows the code.
Space is the final frontier.

Because the other person thinks that by parking next to you, their car is safer. You obviously care about your car, because you parked it away from everyone else, so they know you are not going to slam your door into theirs.
Just because its a rusty Astra, doesnt mean its not someones P&J.
Trust me I not trying saying a rusty 20 year old car is not worth something to someone as I’m not a car snob. This was meant to be light hearted but for sure statistically someone in a new Emira is more likely to care about minor bumps than someone with a rusty 20 year old car.
Let’s be honest would you sooner park next to a mint vintage Aston Martin DB4 or a 2005 Ford Fiedta with rust, dents and different coloured wings? 🤷🏻😁

I made a video!

Great comparison video! You really get an idea what this mod does and what it sounds like, especially no wind noises and other cars passing by who could distract. Well done! :)

For me personally no other backbox / muffler needed, when this mod was done. Perfect solution.

I agree. Very happy with the 3rd cat delete and stock exhaust.

If we park, we would park in an area with no cars or near another high priced car, as that would hopefully protect ours. However if someone is parking theirs, then they potentially look for the same and an Emira would fit that scenario

Arguably, the best place to park, even in a virtually empty car park, is next to another expensive/cared for car, that way, if others do then park next to you, you can only get one crappy car next to you, as the other side is already taken. Unfortunately, you then annoy the owner of the nice car you park next to :)

I suppose the answer is I drove it! I collected it after finalising the deal last week. Took it out to Caffiene & Machine and got some photos of it - I'll throw the album in the appropriate thread.

Now I'm waiting to put the private plate and black Lotus badging on! If anyone has any suggestions for getting the wheel hubs out without taking the wheels off, I'll listen. 😂

Picked up my car from my dealer after getting the below done:
- Aerie Ti exhaust v2, y-pipe, 3rd cat delete, short shifter
- Eventuri intake
- Transmission mount inserts
- Sparco pedals
- Miltek valve controller
- Break in service with liqui-moly oil and magnetic drain plug

Had so much fun poking the throttle in a higher gear to hear the intake, and then revving it out to hear the exhaust

Since you were in there, can you tell me which cylinders are two and five? They should be on opposite banks, but I'm trying to figure out how those two were corroded and the others weren't.

Regardless I'm going to work on a shield I think.
Sorry for the late reply. The good news is that they are all tag labelled so you'll be able to distinguish them easily.

Just watching my car sit at the dealer for the past 10 days waiting for resistor pack water shield installation and other parts (visors)...

let's see the pedals!

Impressive !!! 4 days 1000 miles, that truly is dedication.
72 hours! Admittedly, it was a lot of driving, and not all was fun. But I wanted to be ready to play with the local Lotus group that is gathering this weekend in neighboring North Carolina, and I wanted to push through break-in. Mission accomplished. Tonight, with the benefit of fresh oil, I'm going to run a familiar road in the "forbidden modes" and see how it does in Sport and Track with more RPM and throttle available.

Also, hat tip to @Dragoon for the YouTube video. It made removing the diffuser panel much easier, and the torque specs were welcome.

Wow, is that in your airship hangar!? The perspective is awesome!
It actually is super tall for a garage...probably 20 feet or so. It's my father-in-law's metal barn/garage/paint booth thing. He just coincidentally bought an old hydraulic drive-on lift this week, so I got to be the first to use it!

any pics of the new pedals?

the rubber grommets won't stay in as it's fixed on top of the stock pedals. I don't really care as all I was after was a larger surface area so I can do some barefoot driving in the summer without having the stock pedals dig into my feet :p

Went out with some mates. First time I pushed the Emira, managed to keep up with the others in Touring :)
