In the samples that just arrived down under there is no ice grey either. That's because someone stole it from an earlier reveal before it made it's way here stateside.

Doesn't appear to be in China either. Perhaps it's going to be with drawn.Someone at Lotus must be re-upholstering their sofa with ice grey samples?
Oh Please dont start that again.... I said myself.... I think thats what it looks like only to be shot down by other members.... still think its for the radar, having seen ones like that on other cars, and in about the same place..... time will tellI would suggest that lump on the grill is radar - it has to be located somewhere and is about the right size.
Definitely looks more radar than mountOh Please dont start that again.... I said myself.... I think thats what it looks like only to be shot down by other members.... still think its for the radar, having seen ones like that on other cars, and in about the same place..... time will tell
I went to the Lotus show room in Shanghai yesterday and I am pretty sure it is licence plate mount(at least for the Chinese market)Definitely looks more radar than mount
What was the showroom like?I went to the Lotus show room in Shanghai yesterday and I am pretty sure it is licence plate mount(at least for the Chinese market)
First, the blue car has plastic Plate sticked on that bulge, suggesting it may be the place for real number plates. Secondly, here in china our number plates are in metal(and pretty much everywhere else in the world exept in the commonwealth), it would make no sense to place the radar under a metal plate. Plus I have yet to find solid info suggesting Emira will be having real ACC function, thus no point placing a millimeter wave radar there.
Thanks, guess thats that then.... number plate holder....I went to the Lotus show room in Shanghai yesterday and I am pretty sure it is licence plate mount(at least for the Chinese market)

Do they have to homologate something like radar on the front? Multi purpose? Thanks, guess thats that then.... number plate holder.... View attachment 1923
Well I haven't been to any Lotus showroom or dealers abroad so there is no comparison to be drawn here. It is located in a high end mall next to LOEWE and Louis Vuitton etc. Decoration was pretty good but quite small, with two emiras inside there isn't much space left. Apart from cars and color & wheel samples, there are also some merchandise displayed, quite nice. Service center is said to be open elsewhere, in the suburbs presumably. What was the showroom like?
It looks like it's just a mounting block to attach a plate mount to it, then you'd attach the plate to that. I looked up front license plates for China, and every car has the plate in that exact same location at that same height, so it looks like a government regulation requirement. Hopefully that's just for China, as I definitely do not want that on my car.I would think it would be easy to tell if it’s a license plate holder - it would have threaded bolt holes in it…
I agree with you on the first part but on Chinese government regulation I doubt it. When we get Alfa Romeo gulia here the plate are mounted to the side, just like other countries. It looks like it's just a mounting block to attach a plate mount to it, then you'd attach the plate to that. The Giulia might be a special case where it could get an exception due to where the plate would be if it were in the middle. Because of the Giulia's unique design with the V intake in the front, It would seriously interfere with airflow to the radiator.I agree with you on the first part but on Chinese government regulation I doubt it.
