Lightweight battery

Updated- my warranty got approved and Antigravity is sending me a new battery. So ensure you guys check your battery levels if you can.
Are they going to credit you back the shipping expense for returning the battery?

A quality company will cover the expense. I'd really like to upgrade to that battery so it would be good to know they covered it.

Thanks,

Very disappointing. The answer was no. They are covering shipping cost to me for the new one. So just be aware that warranty shipping is on your them. That’s a bad look.

This issue on several levels is 'no charge.'
;)

Finally got my new battery in from warranty. Anyone install battery tender on the Antigravity and use the screws provided? I installed the lotus one.

My question is do you use the washer and if so where? does it go between the tender and the bolt?

Your great friends over the pond in Austria did exactly the same to me, setting me back over 1000 usd in lost shipping costs, import duties and vat 👍🏼👍🏼 you gotta live with that

Man sorry to hear that, that’s a lot. First time I’ve had a company approve warranty but not cover fees associated with the shipping and all.

I'm seeing a bunch of Group 48 size batteries on Amazon in low $300 range. Anyone try a cheaper solution?

Just remember, you get what you pay for. I've run the AntiGravity products in a few cars, because the "way cheaper" Chinese stuff cr@pped out fast (broken posts, loose cells, etc.).

I've often wondered about these cheaper batteries too but don't have the knowledge to know what I am looking for. Maybe someone can advise?

Most EV batteries come from China so I don't see the issue.
While this statement is generally correct, that doesn’t mean that all the Chinese batteries are the same. My previous job had me visiting potential suppliers of products in China. Some were very good and some were absolutely atrocious. The problem was/is that it is almost impossible to tell from a website which camp the potential supplier is in. I’ve visited companies that I thought would be good, to find they were abysmal and vice versa. My point being, unless you’re going to fly over and visit the different suppliers, then you don’t really know what you’re going to get or what level of support you’ll get if something goes wrong. Don’t get me wrong, I have no issue with Chinese manufacturers, but I’d want some background and evidence of the quality of the product and service. That doesn’t just mean sending an email to them. I’d be looking to see what distributors they had in my country, how reputable those distributors are, how long they’ve been selling the product, what standards can the distributer confirm the product complies with (don’t go on what the supplier/website says), how many have they sold in your country and what does the distributor offer in terms of after sales support.

What @Orchardbike said. The reality is China is a manufacturing power house for a reason. They have tons of fabs cranking anything and everything out in small batches and at constantly competing prices. What does that mean? It means that if you ask 5 factories to build something to your spec, some will do it right and some will just "do it" with price usually being the leading indicator of quality.

I know Anti-Gravity has trusted partners and they stand by their products when they falter which is rare. People were complaining about shipping not being included earlier. Wait until you try returning something to a smaller company and let us know how that works out. Trust me, I've tried and 3 sometimes 6 months later when things cr@p out, you realize you've now spent the same if not more trying to replace the busted item you probably should have researched and bought from a trusted/reliable source (albeit at a higher price).

If you want a final barometer, check to see what major auto manufacturers charge for their Lithium-Ion battery options.
