I have installed the Chinese titanium exhaust system before, it makes a lot of dangerous things could burn the whole car. Not only my car, but a few Chinese Emira friends also meet same problems.

Last time, I meet the lotus engineer who from UK that tells me the M139 heat system cannot support titanium exhaust weather when aggressive driving.

It will burn the valve motor and wiring harness!!!

Say it again, do not trust any information for the titanium exhaust system about 2.0.

I change back to factory exhausted system plus HJS exhaust manifold. Too many traps to tuned this car for performance, hope someone could break the ECU program locks(Lotus & AMG).

@Aerie how do you manage exhaust heat with your titanium exhausts?

I know that downpipe comes with heat isolation:

How do you manage exhaust heat with your Emira i4 Titanium Exhaust V1 and V2?

Yeah what the OP said was the early production of Ti exhaust, which is not a problem of the exhaust but the design fault of the exhaust compartment. Even the stock setup if you ran a series of hot laps there is a chance of that happening. Now Ti exhaust comes with heat isolation.

@valentinewang chech this post:

If you scroll down you will see pictures of exhaust with heat isolation. This should prevent heat problems.
He is one of famous cheater in Chinese emira forum… too many stories & complains, so that he change to foreign emira forum right now, I just warn real emira owners my bad experience. That’s all I can say.

A few rumors said:The Lotus Chapman bespoke department try to connect “AK” Brand to design Emira Bespoke Version Titanium exhausts, but no progress until right now.

We have extensive experience in manufacturing titanium exhaust systems. Our factory operates at an export level, utilizing high-quality materials and state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, which is reflected in the exceptional craftsmanship of our exhausts.

We have designed and produced exhaust systems for the Exige V6, Elise S3, Evora, and Emira models, successfully selling over 300 sets of titanium exhausts. Notably, we supplied a titanium exhaust system for the Emira to the engineering team at Lotus Norfolk HQ for testing, receiving positive feedback and endorsements.

We continuously test and refine our designs to enhance quality, and we have not encountered any issues related to overheating or combustion.

wow dude are you mad? Do you even know me?

Does the GRP titanium exhausts have the same issue? Because that was the one I was going to get for my I4.

It's really not the problem of any Ti exhaust but the design fault of the exhaust compartment which doesn't have any air flow. There are incidents where the same problem occured from the stock exhaust on track days. So if you like to track your Emira Turbo or have changed out your downpipe, there is a risk. Solution now is to have the whole exhaust system wrapped with heat isolation. A new diffuser with better airflow is also in the work.

Damn ok, I am planning to track my emira. Good to know, thanks.
