Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

From posts so far, it looks like Homelink is the contributing factor in this recent delay being 2 months rather than 1.

I'm surprised Lotus haven't given us the option to delete it and get the car a month earlier. I'd have thought losing £200 off the invoice value to get a £78k car delivered and paid for was worth asking people.

So far I've spotted 7 people with Sept build and (we assume) Oct delivery, which will be the first customer cars.
October delivery was what I told you a few weeks back 🤔

My situation appears to be all over the place:

- deposit 11th July 2021 (evening)
- indicated I wanted an i4 when contacted by Customer Care
- second payment 4th May this year and configured car - changed to V6 and advised later in May by email that delivery is likely to be Q1/Q2 2023
- my email of yesterday says production this November i.e. six months earlier than I was previously advised
- just called Customer Services and there seems to be confusion as to whether I had configured the car (I definitely did and received the email confirmation back in May). Awaiting a call back, later this week, to confirm config and delivery.

TBH, this will not be my daily driver so a Spring 2023 delivery would suit me fine. So I will discuss with Customer Care, when I'm called back, the impact of asking to be bumped back to 2023 (I'm in two minds, at present).

The reason I may have been "promoted" for delivery is that my spec may be relatively easy:

V6 manual - touring
Magma Red (no black pack) with black alcantara with red stiching (leather steering wheel)
Diamond cut wheels with black calipers
No homelink or tracker
Im going to Arden sports centre while I am back in the UK, right next to you I guess...... I played padel with a guy that worked on the Emira prototype. I wont repeat any of his real life experience comments on here out of respect for Lotus.

I think if we all put our Spec's down and dates of deposits, we would still see no rhyme or reason to be honest ... I still believe things will get jiggled around before anyone gets their cars and as you indicate above, they are making mistakes and it could be as simple as that...... Human error.

Yes, me too. As I said at the time, with CS it really depends who you speak to as to the answer you get, which is incredible, but its clearly turned out to be true. People were told and still believing they were getting their cars in August until yesterdays email. I think its time to look at the facts, until you sign your contract (30 days before) you have to take all of this with a huge bag of sea salted crips... Come on, how many times can you be lied to before you start not to believe. Ive lived in Colombia for several years, it took me a while, but these days I believe actions and politely or not so politely ignore most promises...

Just a thought , seems like lots of people have been given Oct build . Just wondering if given recent feedback they have erred on the side of caution and then we get a call in Sept saying its ready ? just wishful thinking !

A friend who had an S1 exige 'forever' (longer than me) sold it and bought a 12C. its very cool but he says its way too fast for the road and he wants another lotus 🤷‍♂️
I considered a McLaren but the horror stories put me right off. Even had a good convo with John Thorney (Thorney Motorsport) who will put a warranty on the likes of a 12C once he's had a good fettle round it.
I would speak with him Tom if you are going that route.
Thanks, that's useful. I'd heard about Thorney warranties and that definitely looks the way to go.

May order this and ask them to fit it to my car if it gets delayed again.....🤣
Brilliant! You can also think a fraction more creatively... ;)

I know little about these cars, I drove one at the car club in Barcelona for a nice southern french weekend when they first came out. I wont even give my humble opinion as I am sure you know more than I do on its driving ability, style and how it makes you feel.
I would say, speaking to a Maclaren/ Lotus dealer recently, he didnt say they were bullet proof, as lets face it, apart from maybe Audi's R8 and potentially Porsches, there are no bullet proof super cars, but he certainly said it was one of their better cars and indicated they had very few warranty issues with them.
Probably you have already done it, but popping in to speak to a local and friendly dealer, if you have one, knowing some are not so local or friendly, thinking of Jayemmmms friend's experience, I am sure they will steer you right, whether you got the car through them or not.

Having driven them both now, albeit limitedly for the Emira, there is no comparison..... we do it, but we cant compare a Mclaren with a Lotus, not these two anyway. Both are great in their own way, but although I said I wouldn't, the only two things I would say are the Mclaren is along the lines of modern day porsches, in that its too good. Its amazing that you can go 120mph and it feels like 60....its very fast and handles as it should..but.. you wont feel as alive as in the Emira, where 120 feels like 180 haha. You already know this from the Evora anyway.

Also, the Mclaren I found to be pretty economical.... I got way over 30mpg and in todays world... thats something 😉

I can imagine the prioritisation order for delivery in Columbia 😙

Servicing on a McLaren would be straightforward for me. Bell & Colvill are my local Lotus dealer and also service agents for McLaren.

Like your thinking.

sorry, didnt explain myself well. The Colombian reference was for being lied to, not the most honest culture Ive experienced, corruption etc.. I dont live there now and Lotus may bring the Emira there..... but I would not be ordering one..... if I was there ;)

From the latest emails it looks like there is a sliding window delay of about 4 to 5 months from initial delivery advice originally provided.

Some specific configurations may vary that timeframe a bit too. So based on extrapolation of your December 2022 date I would be expecting your I4 to now land around April/May 2023. However that’s my assumption only.

Can anyone tell me where I can find the link for trade-in valuations? Looks like December delivery for me, so not ideal time to be selling my Cayman. May have to offload sooner rather than later, and chance further delays, rather than being at the mercy of Lotus ….

You need to configure your spec on the Lotus website and then where it gives you finance examples at the bottom click the info button and follow the steps there regarding PCP.
Trade in is one of the steps

I seem to have a different email?
I'd love to take the glory, but it was another 'off forum' suffering emira deposit holders work

I have spent much time entering Lotus used cars reg plates into this to see if you can run an Elise/Exige until the Emira is ready. Assume it's hooked up to the back-end of some other company/provider but it's interesting how an Elise 220S gets a PX value of within £1000 of current used price, whereas Exige getting on for £10k less. Annoying as I wanted to justify an Exige!
