Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

Quoting this for us to come back to after cars start getting shipped. I'll wager there will be no sudden improvement in pre-sale customer experience. They've had 9 months and a team of people responsible, who aren't involved in getting cars built and shipped. Things started to look more positive in June just before Goodwood, but it's faltered now.
Yes I agree, the only improvement now will come if a new "plan" or "directive" or new "position" or whatever is actioned or /and if staff are changed who are potentially holding things back or causing the inconsistencies and lack of clarity and interest in their customer base.
Nothing will change by us getting our cars from the pre car sales side, and the post car sales side would be ok if the cars work very well and we hence don't need Lotus to do anything for us until servicing time. If there are any issues whatsoever, I fear for the worst.
The internal situation / mess is a good 6-12 + months from being altered at a guess.
I am afraid not. They are as much in the dark as we are. They are getting a yellow touring spec car. When, is anyone's guess. I was in Solihull today car hunting.

I don't need to go that far! My nearest McLaren dealer has 5x 570 and 4x 720 (and a P1 at £1.4m!).
So, will you be browsing the above mentioned cars?

I hadn't seen the new PH guide, thanks for that. The trouble with looking at 570 then maybe considering stretching to 650 and then thinking it's not much more to 720 is I end up being 50-80% over my original budget! A friend has a 720s and although it's a fantastic piece of engineering he says it's too bonkers fast for public roads. I think I need to go and drive a 570 and 650 next.
I test drove 570s with a view to buy and 720s recently, both are really too quick for the road and both utterly brilliant in the handling and power.

Problem for me is the 570s I looked at was 5 years old and looked tatty, I’ll be honest I walked as scared of some big bills. Things I noticed, corrosion on three different areas, warning light on dash, tatty interior that rattled, it felt way older than my then 5 year old FK8 Civic Type R.

All the Mclaren’s corrode on the wheel arches as they have no liners. The Artura is the exception. McLaren metallic paint is £1000 per litre. The secondary maintenance market is now well established and cuts costs. The best cars for build integrity are the 650 and 3rd year on 720’s. Generally pretty robust. The 570 suffered from second shift start up but there are good ones around.

So, getting back on topic, I think this thread needs a poll with values like:

1.) YES!
2.) Yes, but....
3.) LOL NO, what're you, nuts. It's been 87 years.......
4.) WTF is a notification. Is that when someone communicates information that provides updates?

Communication is not in the Lotus vocabulary, unlike 'soon' which, when Lotus use it, has no concept of time frame. IE could be anything from 1 month to 10 years.🤔

Have a look at the 570GT, they have one. Trust me, do a test drive.
Also GVE do warranty at half the price of a main dealer.
The corrosion issue isn't as bad as people have made out, the key thing with the 570 is not to get an early model, they changed the interior and paint formula. 2018 >

Received notice today from Lotus stating they have finished some customer cars.
thats a decent email, however, we will only know if its true in another 7-10 days and I suspect its not. If they had "finished" customers cars, ie actual cars ready to give to customers after their cleaning/prepping etc, the customers would have been informed already, which we are 99.99% sure they have not been.
The only way this is true, is if the "customer" cars are "dealer" cars and they are this week maybe heading to dealers? Still a stretch of the truth though as surely they would have said "dealer" cars...

So a decent email, but seems to be fundamentally incorrect in one sense, the sense that "matt" windl"ers" ....did u see what I did there? what a shocker :(

I see what you mean about there being "customer cars" completed. For me, seeing is believing. I have been told delivery dates ranging from March this year to October. I have to say I am finding it difficult to believe anything they say. I will only believe it when there is my Emira residing in my garage.

there is as much chance as that as the first major bridge in the world to be made of cast iron being put up in telford..and still being there today.
so good luck with that......

Reading between the lines, In short we are sorry for having no Fuckinnnnnn clue how to navigate or product plan in any climate let alone this one ☝️. Your Emira may be coming sometime in future. It’s a cut and paste email I saw 2 months ago by the way.

Will there be some benefit from our pain of waiting sooo long for our cars.
Reading in the papers this weekend, there's speculation that Liz Truss is going to reduce VAT to 15%.
If this is the case, this will be a significant saving for UK buyers about to receive their cars in the coming months.
