I’m wanting to get the full 360 sentry mode. I know there are aftermarket solutions out there but has anyone experienced one firsthand?

Get one with a 90 degree connector then you can hide the cable into the horizontal vents

They just released the Mini 3. Not much additional in the features, but supposedly better in minor ways

That's the light sensor for the auto dimming feature. That's how the mirror knows when it's daylight vs just headlights hitting the glass side.

No, but I bundled the excess cable with a Velcro tie. It’s decent enough.

That looks nicely done and discrete. Is the camera bracket glued to the windshield or to the rear of the plastic mirror cover? The only downside for my case, since I have tint film on the inside part of my windshield, is that I want to avoid glueing anything strong to it, particularly because later on I may want to remove it.

Yes, sticky pad to the glass… Not sure if the bracket has enough range to work on the plastic housing….

Cool thanks. I think I could make an adapter to bridge to that cover, if a longer extension is needed. .

I was about to buy a Kenwood DVR-A510W and the manufacturer insists it needs to be minimum 2A supply and USC-C to USB-C is rarely that high
Now considering the Viofo VS1, or the Garmin mini 3. Preference is the VS1 as its 2K.

I use the Garmin mini 3 and it works fine, although I have no idea what the power requirements are.

Well since I last posed, I am now looking at the A119 Mini 2.
Only very slightly bigger and has a screen, which I dont need, but may prove useful. And for the so small increase in size, most likely worth it.

I think having one with a built in screen is slightly easier for reviewing footage when on the move. Also get the biggest SD card you can and set your record segment time to at least 5 minutes, I've set mine to 10 minutes
I pressed the save button for something thinking I'll look at that when I get home and by the time I'd pressed the button it had moved on to the next recording segment and locked that. Because I had a 128gb card by the time I got back from the trip to Scotland what I had wanted was gone. I should have checked sooner!
Anyway I have a 512gb card now.
