So I am loving the Emira and at this point I'm just looking into a few small quirks that are somewhat annoying to see if they are normal or exceptions. One such thing is that whenever I accelerate (doesn't matter if it's light or hard acceleration), I notice a subtle ticking noise that I THINK is coming from behind me somewhere. It's difficult to determine the source and I'm going to have to let someone else drive while I try to locate it. The noise doesn't happen when I'm not accelerating so I'm thinking it's either something within the engine or just something in the car that vibrates only during acceleration.

At any rate, I've heard at least 2-3 others report this on Facebook or in this forum so I wanted to put it out there...do you notice this noise and if so, have you been able to identify or address it? It somewhat detracts from the otherwise glorious supercharger and exhaust notes from the engine under normal acceleration.

Thanks in advance!

Just took delivery of my Emira today and drove it home. I noticed the ticking noise on acceleration almost almost immediately. I probably didn't notice it during the test drive b/c I was always talking with the salesperson or the radio was on. Pretty disappointing and hoping there is a simple DIY to fix the noise. Would prefer not to have to bring the car back to the dealership for this.

I have this too. Definitely mostly at a certain lower RPM range and then it goes away. Sounds like it is coming from behind me. Does not happen in neutral.

My car is making the same ticking noise from the shifter in gears 3 and 4. It’s loud enough that I’ll have to bring it up during my break in service.
It was barely noticeable at first but now it’s hard to ignore.

Mines not nearly as bad as this, mine actually might be a different sound all together. Not sure if it’s just a “characteristic” or if it is fixable.
ive confirmed that my noise goes away when pushing on the gear stick further into the gate in 5th and 6th gear. I dont get the noise in any other gear. The noise on mine is significantly less than the video and other mentions, but it is noticeable. Has anyone had this addressed?

My local Lotus dealer doesn't know about the issues or how to fix it. They offered to look at it to see if they could figure it out but I prefer to keep the car and drive it until Lotus understands the issue.

It’s a shifter mechanism. Everyone has this ticking rattling noise . I would recommend to not touch this because they would have to take your interior apart to adjust this . It’s annoying I know but turn on the music and open windows and you’re going to be ok .

Have driven 5 Emiras now, including my own -- no ticking/rattling noise from the shifter. Don't think this is normal.

I hear ya, and it happens on mine during maybe 30-40% of my drives and then not at all during others. Not sure yet if it's temperature dependant.
