Emira production is underway

I'm really surprised that we're not seeing more photographs of completed Emiras. By now they must have manufactured >100 customer cars . . . where are they? Lotus can't hide them forever!
Perhaps not.... last I knew seats still not signed off..... so no finished cars.... pluss was told they would be ramping up production and not up to full speed till May.... ? :)

Lotus customer relations are really shit, lol. I hope they get this stuff sorted out ASAP. I say that out of a place of love, and not as a hater (I just read the last 8 pages and I want to be careful how I go about this post). I very much want them to succeed, and I hope the first deliveries go off without a hitch. Although, at this point, I am getting a little nervous for those guys. I couldn't handle the lack of communication and info so I got out of my FE deposit and went the GT4 route; so maybe I am just sensitive that way.

It's not just the lack of communication and information that has me worried, but it gets me anxious about what will happen if there is an issue to my (would have been) FE Emira and it needs service. How will communicating with the dealer, and then with Lotus be? How soon will parts arrive? What if there is a discrepancy of some sort about who is to blame? So anyway, that sort of stuff is what I think about when I see a lack of communication from a dealer to a customer over a set period of time, and it's what ultimately influenced my decision. As I said, I am still here, and I do not want to be a downer. I will support the owners and I hope Lotus do well and make things right.

I understand how you felt.... think there are plenty feeling the same.... I have looked at the Cayman GTS 4.0L... still looking at a year for one of those. So I am sticking it out.... In the hope the car is as good as we all hope. But so very worried about the long term relationship with Lotus. What is worse is they know people are unhappy.... but either dont seem will , or able to sort things

Yeah, that's my sticking point as well. I updated my original post while you posted this. You can see my reasoning there. Essentially, the lack of communication makes me anxious about potential larger issues in the future. The fact that its possible to have these addressed now and they are not being addressed tells me that we maybe are not that important. Some people are okay with that. I am not, so I am out.

Pretty sure the cargo ship disaster has changed a lot of production plans at Porsche/VAG. They will be scrambling to re-produce all of those lost orders and also meet new orders. It will be a difficult year ahead to get a car from them on a new order, even if the chip shortage wasn't a factor.

From the German Lotus Forum..........7hrs ago.......post #302

Hello, everyone,
just had a phone call from a lotus dealer. There are slight delays in the production of the Emira, so that the first demonstrators should not be available for test drives at the dealers until May of this year :(. The delivery of the ordered FE should then only take place in August 2022 :(. It is positive that due to the "great demand" more slots for the FE Emira were given to the dealers :) To ask about the previous orders regarding the gearbox - the same number of switches and automatic gearboxes have been ordered from this dealer!

@ Leonard,

I don't know exactly, only that he ordered a FE V6 on 22. Dezember 2021.......see post #4 of the link.
That time he expected (hoped) delivery "April 2022"........(conform his adjusted Avatar)

So when there's an option on Cargo nets, take it.

Porsche has also been hit hard by the war in Ukraine. For example, Porsche's wiring looms are/were manufactured in Ukraine.

Anyone know what this means? Seems generic but they have not ever contacted me before. I live in New York. I edited it for paranoia:

"Dear ~el~jefe~,

Thank you for becoming a priority Emira customer.

You’re in the fast lane and we’ll let you know first about any important Emira updates as they occur.

In the meantime, you can look forward to configuring your car and completing your order very soon.

Welcome to Emira. Not just another sports car. The other sports car.

Lotus Cars USA

Your reference number: XXXXXXXX"

I got one of these too but since I didn’t submit my reservation until last week I assumed it as in response to that, just a week late.

You xxx’d out your number but based on mine I think there has been a lot of exaggeration over how many official reservations have been submitted for North America.

We can probably confirm that, did everyone’s number in the US and Canada start with 95? If so and the last 4 numbers are sequential there are less than 1800 reservations.
