Exhaust Options Index

But in CARB states it would fail?
By the letter of the law it would not be smog legal.
Whether a smog person checks and knows what to look for is a different story.
Case in point --- numerous people are running decat pipes in CA and other carb states with zero problems.

Im sure I speak for every vendor though that the decat pipes are sold for "offroad/racetrack" purposes.
What you do with them is your own business ;)

Doing a third cat delete will 100% NOT cause a check engine light.
It is an un-monitored catalyst.
Thanks for the confirmation. Non-issue edit updated.

I could be wrong here but is doesn’t seem right that the Y pipe is 4.99kg and whole main rear section of exhaust is 6.12kg. I was expecting the Y pipe to be half the weight at most.

It could be right. The Y pipe is steel, not titanium

Can’t wait to get the car for it😂
Larini plus decat……looks well made

Valve controller question…

I noticed on some videos when the Emira revs, the pitch increase on the high end, almost like a trumpet. Is it because of the increased pressure release when the valves open? Its my understanding that even in track mode, the valves are still partially closed?

Would adding the valve controller change the sound characteristic given the valves are fully open all the time?

@Magicman has a Valve Contoller installed on his, maybe he can answer this.

I have a valve controller on mine with the Miltek with 3rd cat delete. Pretty sure that when you are in mode 3 (oem) that track mode still isn’t quite as loud as valves open on the Miltek setting. I’d have to use a sound meter to test this, so if we haven’t had an answer by the start of April I will have access to a professional unit from work to do some trials.
The first Sunday of each month has a performance and classic car meet at Port Solent Hampshire which has 200+ cars attend and there will probably be a standard V6 there. Anyone who fancies attending and want their set up tested I can take the kit.
