If Not The EMIRA .......... WHAT ? .... yes ok blasphemy perhaps

Very true......if they get any think like close..... Not 100%....... old brain.... etc... but sure... ish :)..... we was told the interior is be done in Germany..... the dash at least.... might be woth asking Tom
I don’t know whether all the interior elements come from the same supplier but the full-width dash piece we saw was from Germany. The stitching on it was laser-straight and the whole thing was very impressive. The brackets (which most of us will never see) were nicely engineered.

When we talk about the quality of the car we often mean different things:
  1. How well designed is it - does it look quality or premium or cheap
  2. What are the materials like - do they match what we perceive is suitable quality for this type of car at this price
  3. Is it well built - do things line up and are gaps tight etc
  4. Does it stand up over time - wear, reliability, stuff not falling off
In the past Lotus have been rather variable on these. Although my own experience is good on 3 and 4 I know other people have been less fortunate.

On Emira I think they’ve made a massive step up on 1, 2 and 3 and I think that promises good things on 4.

NSX for me. But cannot afford that!

Im a 100% honda lover for ages, I can afford an nsx last model fortunately , but I still prefer the looking on one emira

even I can afford an nsx na2 but is becoming a piece of collection, and I will suffer for daily drive it

So the emira is perfect , new, good technology, awesome shape, last Ice lotus car, V6 and manual , I don’t mind the power

When I test drove an Evora GT410 Sport recently I actually wondered what all the complaints were about in terms of interior, other than the much criticised Alpine head unit, it was pretty good and ‘premium’ feeling. Tan leather always helps I suppose.

Though the lotus Guru videos were quite amusing, where he talks about the number of screws used to fit dashes and door cards (and the dash vents in the Evora did look the same as my old Smax), I think we will all be very satisfied with the interior. They know how important this element is.

Edit.: to get back on thread, I sat in a Cayman GTS (that was on my list before Emira) at Goodwood and whilst impressive, personally I didn’t think it was a million miles better than the dynamic Emira I sat in. Seems like a lifetime ago now!

Totally had planned an M4 for my next car. Wouldn’t have even shipped another brand. And then “that” happened. Destruction of the BMW design on a scale that has never been seen before. Beaver teeth. Unforgivable

Totally agree. In my opinion ugly as sin how did it get thru to build? They said Chris Bangles designs were controversial in the early noughties

What about the R8?

I know, different car caregory and budget, but a slightly used R8 from 2020-2021 can be found at +20-30% of the FE Emira.

Supercar looks and supercar engine. Too bad it has a rev limiter.

I had an M4 so I'd consider another M4 if I don't get an Emira.

However with work now offering electric cars via salary sacrifice I might look at a Taycan GTS.

I've been inline for the new Z06 for over a year now, it's my backup if I decide against the Emira. The engine sound/power makes up for all other downfalls it may have.

Really tempted by this too. The engine looks amazing but I’m not a fan of its looks…it just looks to me like it’s trying to hard.

Still tempted

Agreed, though they look better (C8's) in person than in pictures for some reason. The Emira with a variation of that engine would be the ultimate car of all time!

Me too C8-Z06 convertible red/ tan. Still watch to Chevy video.. “Chevy” shit that sounds bad 😅 Still want the Emira at the end of the it’s an exotic dripping in sex appeal. Drop dead gorgeous🥰 I see C8’s all the time.

I was torn between several cars intially the list included Z06/GTS 4.0/Carrera S....

Then I brought the list down to 2 cars only, Emira and GT4RS, I ended up getting both lol, I found that they can actually coexist, I mentioned there's 2 track focused cars coming to me by next year and one is the GT4RS (hopefully this year but I doubt).

As for Cayman GTS 4.0, I owned a 981 GTS I don't want similar car again, as for Z06 the chassis have so many compromises to me it felt like a marketing car than actual driver's car after I drove the C8, engine won't fix it for me will rather buy 458 used than a car trying to become 458....

Carrera S I drove it for a week, tbh it's not exciting enough, it's amazing daily driver, one of most refined, most comfortable, most luxurious sports car I have been in, but when I drove Evora GT I simply needed that extra level of excitement......

The car I was really trying to get alongside GT4RS is Lexus LC500, the reason I didn't is I needed one more last manual car and I will give that to Emira being the one, always wanted Lotus manual and now it's perfect time for one, but this Lexus is in my bucket list for sure! I need this and GR Yaris in my garage!

Not the market for a CPO or used car right now since you are paying more than new and you can find dealerships not doing ADM if you do some leg work.

GTS 4.0 if you are going to load it up equivalent to FE price. You may be able to get the GTS sooner than the Emira too which is a benefit. You can also trade in the GTS for a base Emira in a year or two once more colors and options hit, but you won’t be able to build a new GTS by then since the production will stop. GT4 if you can find one but that’s a no brainer. I think the Emira is a better car than the cayman S but I would be hard pressed to pass up a NA engine.

Word on the street is some dealerships just got an influx of GTS 4.0 allocations. I think they came from Russian dealerships.

If I'm not allotted an i4 fe, I may cancel and wait till the electrified version of cayman/boxster releases. My wife will be super happy and can have her porsche.

Finally got behind the wheel of one of these today.

It would probably be my choice if Lotus didn't exist.
And if it was available in the states.
