I'm out - the cancellations thread

Nope. Not “all”. The Emira won’t need major surgery to the suspension or ride height or the power for my use and I’m sure for many others too. And I’m not just using it to pop to the shops and hang out at the local car cruise.

It’s surprising how many people who have never driven the car have already concluded they need to make major modifications to it. Wouldn’t you be better off buying a car that better meets your requirements out of the gate?

If you’re into tuning and mods and tinkering then fair play to you. If you need a low rider that smokes everyone at the drag strip you might get there by modifying an Emira but there are probably easier start points.
Pretty simple answer to this. I have never left a car stock. I prefer to modify vehicles to my exact desire. I realize there are traditionalist that prefer stock cars I'm just not one of them. I think the Emira is a great starting point for what I want. I respect and understand the traditionalist group that prefer bone stock.

I think with all the safety implementations, cost cutting and move to making cars more accessible to all, there is always a bit of 'personalisation' required to get the car exactly how you would like it 👍

Beat me shoot me but the BS complain and bitching about every little thing I just don’t get it
Seriously all you people go buy something else. Lotus is what it is. Wheel gap, comms and all the other BS complaint. Go elsewhere to bitch and complain. You want the car or not???
Go guy your Porsche or Ferrari or whatever you want.
As someone said Lotus is not for everyone.
It’s not the perfect car but if you have never owned one or driven one you will never understand Lotus or what it is.
There are serious and bigger issues in the world. You and I are extremely privileged compared to 95% of everyone else but you complain about stupid shit
Good luck to all of you.
And indeed I have.

As an owner of several Lotus cars & other specialist cars, I’m used to all that entails.

But, outright BS from anyone, let alone a company selling you a product costing £80k+, is just not worth putting up with. And, usually, is only the thin edge of a large wedge.

I’m relaxed though, Geely-Lotus will sell the slot to someone else. I’ll just spend my money somewhere else.

Everyone is happy

Pretty agro way of just telling people they don't need to buy it. Chill out man.

It only just occurred to me that I too have modified every single car I have ever owned... not radically (I have tended to drive sleepers until I dropped an order on the Emira), but usually tweaked/replaced certain things in a way that was sympathetic to looking "factory". Is there a name for this condition? 🤔

I suffer from the same condition, I usually just call it being too poor to buy the car I actually want.

Ok... I think you nailed it :D

EDIT: to add more colour (color to our US friends), the current "family beater" (purchased many years ago now) serves as a good example for my affliction... I absolutely could have come home with a nearly-new Audi RS6 Avant and man-mathed my way to victory, but being a Responsible Adult, I went for a high-spec turbo-diesel, citing good mileage and sensible service costs to myself as the reason. I immediately started fiddling with the suspension, exhaust, bodywork (rear skirt and front grille), and engine tuning to make it more than it was from the factory... but with the explicit purpose of making it look like it was some factory special edition. What a sad and pathetic creature I am. Cue midlife crisis and an Emira.

I’m not out. Sorry to disappoint you
I’m getting the Emira FE to add to my Evora GT and keeping both.
Also have a deposit on the Eletre.
Just tired of some folks who complain continually about silly little stuff continually over the last year.
Mate aren’t you just the best 😜. As you are entitled to your opinions, so are others. Move on champ if you don’t like that….

Won’t disappoint me good luck will keep enjoying my evora to and look forward to my boxster gts in the autumn and await my 4 qt 2023 cayman gt4 rS , a slot I happened to have having been disappointed with my Newley arrived 911 gt3 and resold it back to the Porsche dealer with a 30k profit , shows even the Porsche marque get things out of kilter ! The difference amounting to a committed dealer network (Porsche)and no dealer network in the newly formed geely lotus not the lotus of old , in fact not lotus at all but a Chinese conglomerate trying to squeeze every last drop of profit from there investment ; while destroying what used to be true car company run by committed car guys ,god help you if the emira breaks down !

is this now not a Lotus forum at all, but instead a look at me and what I have got and what I am going to get forum....
wow, calm down.....
You dont want the Emira, fine, no need to attack the rest of us who do surely???
Lotus have a poor network of dealers and are trying to move away from dealers, this does not happen over night and yes it will be a tuff couple of years and yes the first cars may have issues, this is true of most manufacturers, so simply dont get one, but no need to be nasty about it is there?

The NSX is actually an amazing car IF you are willing to modify. The stock car just isn't up to its potential and not "super" enough. The gap between a stock NSX and the way I have mine configured is night and day. If the NSX was released closer to how I have mine configured, they would have had 0 issues selling it. The 2 big changes upgrading the power to 700HP and upgrading the rear setup from 305/30r20 to 325/30r21.

Sell me the NSX! :)

Hear Hear, the site is full of complainers, overgrown School Boys. With there stupid and irrelevant questions. As far as Porsche goes, my 718 was the most unreliable car I've had the misfortune to own, was glad to see the back of it.
"there stupid..." careful with the spelling chap or ye might get lumped into the wrong category...:)
