My Emira is at the dealer and I am going to pick it up on the 7th. Can people share where they got insurance? I have Progressive for our current vehicles, but they don't list Lotus as a brand they insure. Love to hear who others have selected/use here in the USA.

NJM, $1847/year, Big city in Maryland. My regular insurance is Erie and they wanted $5k just for my Emira which was more than my X5, 430GC, and Cherokee combined.

NJM here too. ~$1500/year with $1000 deductible. My home and R8 is also with them which may have discounted the premium.

I am using Progressive, no restrictions, excellent high $ coverage for two drivers (even for rentals and the like), $500 deductible in Palm Beach where they assume a stolen car is out of the country by the time you report it, because of the ports - $1250/yr (just the Emira, no bundle)

I'll try them again. When I tried them about a month ago 'Lotus' wasn't even in their mfr drop-down.

I just tried and Progressive has the Emira in their system. It may be because we already have six cars and five drivers with them, and I live in Boise, but our policy only went up $300 for six months. Great news for me!

By the way, my salesman sent me a teaser photo while it is in dealer prep. I can't pick it up until next month, so the next three weeks will feel like an eternity!

Grundy is by far the best / Lowest premium that I've seen. I initially went with state farm, but recently switched to grundy. $1460 annual premium, 0 deductible and 5K miles per year

National General crushed it for me -- I'm in North Carolina. I had all kinds of issues with other companies, some even saying no as it was a "first edition" vehicle. IMO stay far away from the boutique fancy insurance like Hagerty, etc.

Same. I was actually with them, and they said they can't insure any Lotus. At least in my area I suppose.
Can't speak to their picking and choosing of areas for coverage of Lotus cars - I was going with Grundy, and on a whim I pulled a quote online with Progressive. I was shocked at the price, waited until Monday (1/13/25), gave them a call to confirm and they came in at the same price as Grundy, with more coverage and less restrictions, so it was a no brainer.

Picking up my car this coming Monday..

Based on what you guys are seeing in terms of pricing, I am getting fleeced. I added the Emira as a 5th car to my Farmer's policy, and it's $6k/year.
I did some checking and got offers that vary from $6500 a year to $14,000 a year (no thanks, AAA!).
Ended up that GEICO was the most reasonable and wanted about $1500 for 6 months with $500 deductibles and 7k miles a year. For the Bay Area... I guess this is reasonable...

Bay Area. State Farm for $1440/year and $2k deductible.

Interesting. I'm going to have to yell at Farmer's or switch (I have 2 homeowner policies and 5 cars with them). No accidents, no tickets, the 5 cars together cost $12k/year and the Emira is half of that. Other than my Elise (which has liability only), the others aren't fancy cars.

I think State Farm gave me that $6500 quote. It's a free for all market here... Also depends where you live in the Bay.

And... I just checked my quotes again to find out I was wrong...
Allstate was the winner here with $9300 for 6 months!!
This with zero traffic violations, no insurance claims in the past 10 years, and many years as a driver. Just ridiculous 😂
