Japan - Emira Ownership (エミーラ納車とその後)

I had missed this article. Thanks. Looking forward to it. My emira often breaks down so the delay is not problem.
Yesterday, I received a message saying that Emira's parts will arrive at the end of the year. Your parts may also arrive from the UK together, so please have a fun.

What parts are you waiting for? I am still waiting for my sunvisors...

I had a similar issue, but slightly in reverse. I got the oil low message, saying down to 5.0l, so topped it off with a litre of oil. But it didnt register it being added.
Called the dealership to ask what I should do, as my concern was either oil was burning at a stupid rate, or the sensor was not working correctly and I might have over filled it. Turns out it takes quite a while for the sensor to register the new level. I did a 300 mile journey on Friday and about 2/3rds of the way through it, the level now reads 6.5ltrs.

I firstly learned here that the oil level can be checked on the instrument panel. I will check it too.

I can't trust any of the digital readouts on this car. Tire pressure is measured with an analog guage, and I will be using the dipstick for the oil level...
センサー類がアテにならないので、結局は旧来の方法で確認するしかないですね。

OIL LEVEL LOW in my AMG 2.0 Turbo Emira
(I managed to delete my earlier post when attempting to organize the photos🤣😅😱)

I bought the 3-year service package, so oil changes and other maintenance items in this period are covered.

Oil Level was sufficient up to the first oil change past 1600 km (1000 miles) and there were no warnings despite driving actively on winding roads in mountainous areas.

After my first oil change, an Emira owners group I enjoy going touring together with drove to the beautiful Nikko area with beautiful autumn colors. On my way home to Tokyo on the Tohoku Expressway, I received my first OIL LEVEL LOW warning on the dash display.

I had another issue to get fixed at Lotus Tokyo service, so I also mentioned about this warning display (that later disappeared). The service staff did not find any stored data on the car about this event, and the car was returned to me without further action. However, on my way home, along circular route #7 (kannana) the OIL LEVEL LOW display returned, and since there was a lot of slow stop-and-go traffic, I managed to snap photos (which I later sent to my service manager) of these messages.

I was eventually asked to return the car to service a few days later. I had also noticed (and photographed) another display you get when operating the right hand side function pad. Here it has an oil symbol and OK, while it also said 5.1 liter and 0.9 liter below MAX.

I suggested to service that it might be better if the oil level was topped up to the full 6.0 liter, and they added oil while I was waiting.

After receiving the car back, I checked with the function pad, and now the display said: OIL LEVEL GOOD and 6.0 liter. There has not been any further warning or LOW display after this.

I am not writing this to criticize or to complain. I am simply curious to hear if anyone else have experienced this?

On older engine designs, like the V6 Toyota in the other main version of Emira, there is a «dipstick» that can be used for a manual check of the oil level. On the more recent design of the M139 AMG (l4) engine, there is no longer any «dipstick», so owners are completely dependent on the car electronics and the displays in the car to check for oil level. If these displays show that the level is low, it is obviously a reason for concern.

I invite other owners of AMG M139 Emira to comment on their own experiences. Did anyone else also have this happening?

My Emira's electronic meters are suspect in others than oil.
But It's pretty hard to physically check the oil in the V6 because of its location.
If my part arrive safely, I'll bring her off at the dealer in the New Year. The dealer seems to be a bit suspicious, too.
