Ive never seen this before but he's gonna knock $100 off that True-Coat (they install that at the factory you know...)My dealer offered the following add on, anyone know anything about it?
Xzilon protectant $2,995 for 7 years
I was looking at their website and it looks like a glorified ceramic coating, which I can get done for way less.Ive never seen this before but he's gonna knock $100 off that True-Coat (they install that at the factory you know...)
Is there a way to flip.it for a few grand without having to register it and pay the sales tax?? Could make lemonade win-win?As if that wasn't enough, this FINALLY happens with my car having sat at the Austin dealer for months and the timing of the release is terrible for me! I got hit with a... financial challenge that may be my undoing. I may have to give up the Emira.
Replied to wrong post originally. DM me if you decide you donāt want it. Would love to get something earlier and happy to try to make something work.As if that wasn't enough, this FINALLY happens with my car having sat at the Austin dealer for months and the timing of the release is terrible for me! I appreciate that! I might but I'm still looking at whatever options I might have. Been a long wait for something I really wanted and customized to then let go.Replied to wrong post originally. How many miles would you expect to see on the odometer at the time of delivery? Do they put many miles on them before they leave the factory?Bought mine tonight. First from Lotus Atlanta. Pick it up tomorrow once the monsoon stops.
Iāll start a new thread when I get mine for all of us to connect at some point.I know of 3-4 with you
Mine too coming from Lotus of Atlanta.. Cannot wait. Post pics!Bought mine tonight. First from Lotus Atlanta. Pick it up tomorrow once the monsoon stops.
DM me so we can talk about the process at L of A. ThanksBought mine tonight. First from Lotus Atlanta. Pick it up tomorrow once the monsoon stops.
To be even clearer about this, the costs associated with PDI are charged back to the manufacturer under the normal vehicle warranty process. If the car hasn't been sold by the manufacturer yet, there's no financial structure for them to charge a warranty claim.PDI occurs when a dealer takes a car into their inventory. These weren't (legally) part of dealer inventory and weren't PDI'd yet, because Lotus didn't actually sell the cars to the dealers until now.
I must say Porter, you are a wealth of informationTo be even clearer about this, the costs associated with PDI are charged back to the manufacturer under the normal vehicle warranty process. So that's why PDI wouldn't have taken place when the cars came off the truck. Even if the dealer wanted to float the cost themselves, it's a dangerous game to play because if one of the vehicles needs something repaired or replaced that's discovered during the PDI, there's no way to go through that warranty process yet either.
Thanks Bobby! Just trying to help, I used to be the service manager of a dealership so I figure that some of the weird stuff about process might be worth sharing, particularly where I think it's probably non-obvious.I must say Porter, you are a wealth of information
This is exactly what I was referring too on a previous post...not unreasonable at all. There should have at least been a "plan" to roll through deliveries from "Day 1 of CARB approval"...instead it appears to be another Lotus shit show, as everyone scrambles to find their vehicle, scheduled a pick up, etc. etc.Cant get my car because its not at the dealer...Sitting...somewhere. Wanted to go pick up tomorrow.
- Lotus is Carb Approve
- Lotus can sell Emiras
- Lotus Has my Emira in USA since Decemberish
- I have the money ready to pay
- Car is not at dealer for me to buy
- ???
- ???
- Am I being unreasonable? I mean its comical at the point. Im not blaming dealer, but I think all around this is a shit show.
Feel really bad for you all in CARB states. This is exactly what I was referring too on a previous post...not unreasonable at all.
