Even more dramatically ugly sitting next to the Emira, IMO.To each their own. I've seen several in person and they just make me laugh at how ugly they are.
Same reason the hot girl always has that one ugly AF friend.Even more dramatically ugly sitting next to the Emira, IMO.
One-of-One in San Diego (They wrapped my F-Type in 2015 and it still looks great). High end shop - always Ferraris and Mclarens etc. Took all letters and emblems off. Most everything is wrapped under whereever they can. They said trickiest part was the bottom front splitter. They do a hybrid approach of template and custom. The side airvents were tricky. I just noticed there's this little cutout triangle they had to leave bare which i was disappointed to find cuz I really want the COVERED - like sunscreen on a baby. Also noticed the mirrors are like only half or 3/4 covered so Im going back to them on that. Not sure if I'll get an answer on the triangle. Very curious if other 'Full-wrappers' will end up w the same or if their installers found a better way to skin the cat. These guys are using Xpel 10 which is a little thicker and harder to install. They also wrapped lots of black parts. Lower BP and front and back. Also arouns engine window and even the black inside the side air vents. Mostly very happy but wont be if other installers found a way to avoid ' the triangle ' (You have to look closely to see it)Congrats @Balboa looking GREAT! You're probably busy driving, but in your spare time, would you give us some more info on your experience with your PPF install and the shop you used, the good, bad, and any ugly? Full sheet, template, oversized, fully wrapped? How the "fiddlely" bits were handled like around the badges/letters (removed/cut around) and the intakes, etc?
Appreciate the selfless offer. Just got the email late last night!!!I'd be happy to pick your car up and put the required break in miles on it for you!

Sorry if I missed it...what's the silicon strip for? Was something rubbing against your leather seat?
Post in thread 'Paint Protection Film (PPF) and Wrap for your Emira'Is there a PPF and/or Xpel thread? I couldn't find one searching. I'm particularly interested in hearing from folks in the UK and elsewhere who have had their Emiras for a while and can share their experiences about where the Emira tends to pick up damage.
Based on my other cars (Elise and 4C) I'm leaning toward the first option, but I'm concerned about the rocker panels. I didn't get the BlackPack, so the second option seems overkill protecting the roof and rear of the car (where I have not observed damage on my existing vehicles. Appreciate everyone's thoughts, experiences and recommendations.
Also, what about Xpel? I'm leaning toward it. TIA, Peter

I'm going full body, in part because I don't want to have to treat different parts of the car differently based on if there is PPF vs. just Ceramic coating. The rocker panels will for sure get a lot of hits, so if you do option 1, I'd consider at least getting those covered. Is there a PPF and/or Xpel thread? I couldn't find one searching. Just curious, in what ways would you treat PPF covered vs. non-PPF covered sections of the car differently. I've never treated mine differently, but admittedly I am not big into detailing my cars.I'm going full body, in part because I don't want to have to treat different parts of the car differently based on if there is PPF vs. just Ceramic coating. As for product, you'll get varying views, but I've had XPEL, SunTek and STEK on various cars, and I've found STEK to be the most invisible, and their built in ceramic layer seems to be the most hydrophobic in my experience.
PPF sections will have the self healing ability from proper heat to remove scratches for a couple years, so easy to remove any marks that got in there from washes, etc. Ceramic coated areas without PPF, you have to be a bit more delicate. On cars where I have partial PPF, inevitably, the portions with only ceramic coating I can see more imperfections (no matter how careful I attempt to be during proper washes, etc). If you are not super OCD, it may not be something you see/care about.Just curious, in what ways would you treat PPF covered vs. non-PPF covered sections of the car differently. This looks like poor workmanship. I've never seen such a thing on any car that's ever been PPF'dOne-of-One in San Diego (They wrapped my F-Type in 2015 and it still looks great). That would drive me crazy! What's the length of that cutout? And can you feel the edge? It looks VERY visible in the photo. This looks like poor workmanship. I've never seen such a thing on any car that's ever been PPF'd
She does shine w Xpel tho!Congrats @Balboa looking GREAT! Yeswhat color s this? nimbus?
I was disappointed to see it but am hearing other Emira owners who have had the same. Curious to know what ither cars you have PPFd and if any had a side vent like this? This looks like poor workmanship. I've never seen such a thing on any car that's ever been PPF'd
Dealers I think around .00435 (10.4%) yeah horrible. BUT it's definitely negotiable. There's a base MF but don't know what it is. I think maybe close to 8%. So can try to negotiate to that APR.Hi, new to the forums, long time lurker. I saw the lease residual was 69% (nice). Has the money factor gotten any better since late March/early April? I am leaning towards a lease if the money factor gets better.
