Pulled the first email Tom & I started talking on the topic: Fri 8/21/2020 1:40 PM was buying a Lotus GT. Then we moved the discussions on to the new Emira, I said I wanted that car too, It took a little longer with multiple calls/visits.

Hmm, odd, think you have the year off. I placed a deposit on July 8th, 2021 at Boardwalk Lotus and I'm 10th on the list -- minus some cancellations.

probably no mark up, i may have been one they were talking about from Lotus of Dallas. I didnt think I was getting a FE the whole time (july 2023 deposit) and was surprised with a call saying I had an allocation ~2 weeks ago.

Sorry, let me give more details and then back to the topic for all forum members.
No Tom and I have been talking since 2020 after I sold one of my sports cars & buying a GT from TOM. I did not put a deposit down till 2021, which was the number 1 spot. But I moved it back because I had a Z06 arriving and another P GT car. At that time we thought these things were arriving a lot sooner and I was trying to time it all. My friend in Austin who was #2 moved to 1 and I am further back now in the top 40 count. Not a big deal as I could not get it too soon till I had my new house in Texas built with the extra garage space for my sports cars. What's funny my friend in Austin who moved to #1 wanted his pushed back as he has a Lotus 400 he wants to sell. But now with all these delays and the 40 arriving all at the same delayed time, all is good my garage is ready for the car.

Would have been much cooler if it were at least a stand up jet ski. I used to ride those as a kid. I should have said Personal Water Craft. If it's fast, I like it!

Newbie here. I'm not sure. Is there a difference in FE 1.0 vs 2.0 pricing?

The the price increase between the FE 1.0 and FE 2.0 is annoying but understandable given the rate of inflation since 2022. I just look at it as if I paid 10K more for a paint color option that wasn't initially available

Yup, same can be said for those who put a deposit in on launch day and didn’t get a FE 1 based on dealer allocations vs. some who found a new lesser dealer in September or even later in 2021 and got a FE 1.

Given there’s no difference in the cars, the appropriate thing would have been for them do do the additional dealer allocation thing (however they do it), but to have honoured the FE 1 pricing based on a date of deposit ie. July 31, 2021. Lotus could have done this in a way that they still landed up making The same amount of revenue at the end of the day, but been more fair to their customers. I will say the last 3 years have prepared me for Lotus, almost like a training program before finally taking the keys .

Yes, somewhere in the neighborhood of $12k. Same car, same production line at the same time, slight difference in available colors.

Waiting 3 years while Lotus holds your deposit money does have its (very small) upside.

That is definitely FE 1.0 + destination. FE 2.0 pricing would start around 105k before destination.
