USA/Canada Delivery Thread

My Canadian car was on the 12/15 boat and arrived at the dealer this morning. They said 24 hours to PDI and I can pick it up! Excited to see the car finally arrive, but unfortunately won't be able to drive it until Spring with our winters. Turbo i4 Hethel Yellow on Ice Grey with full black pack.

Anyone from the Northeast still waiting for their I4 to be delivered from Port to dealer? I was told eoy, then 1 week after that, and now crickets!

Well that makes sense, I mean they have been to model of efficiency through out the whole process..

So, is there any point in placing a deposit? With whom? And really would it be worth the wait?

I'm thinking that instead of getting in the queue and crossing my fingers for a 2025 delivery, I should just buy from a dealer stock. Trouble is, I like all yellow, no black pack, and I haven't seen one up for sale in months of looking.

Advise pls?

I'm curious if all dealers are treated the same, or whether there are some with more clout with the factory? Some dealers seem to have more stock than others. I wonder if a deposit with one of these might result in faster delivery?

Yeah, but it represents a 10% savings over new. That’s like receiving $20/mile driven. And I’m sure you could negotiate beyond their asking price.

480 miles on an engine that should easily go over 100k without much of an issue doesn’t seem like a big deal. See if they’ll add a couple years warranty at no cost to make you feel better.

Or…build your own and wait

There's a lot of uncertainty right now about tariffs in the US. While the UK hasn't been a target so far, I do wonder if China-owned companies with production outside of China may be targeted at some point (to prevent them from getting around tariffs by just shifting manufacturing). Or if Lotus may face greater supply costs and have to raise their prices. If you find one in inventory, it might be a good idea to grab it.

The deposit gets you a place in line with the dealer and the order gets you a spot in line at Lotus. I assume most dealers are requiring deposits before they will submit the order though, so I'm not sure if you can avoid one if you want a specific spec. Just make sure you go to a dealer that makes them refundable.

Just let a 4cyl turbo go at Galpin yesterday.

Magma, no upper BP, red stitch altcatara interior.

It's not on their web inventory yet, either have someone lined up or you've got a head start.

Nearly three years later and car priorities/needs change.

500 miles might be blessing. No issues wit the car and they have have done half the break in for you. Break in point is 1000 miles which I have found surprisingly hard to get quickly.

Hi all! SoCal here and just picked up my i4 (DV and tan). Been lurking here reading on all Emira related things since I made my initial deposit in fall 2021, and told myself I will officially join the moment I get the car, so here I am after 3+ long arduous years! The car is everything I’ve dreamed about and more. So gorgeous and pictures don’t do justice. Already got my first thumb up from a random driver 30 mins into the drive from pickup to home (am sure many more to come). Thanks all for your great info and contents, and hi again!

Been 1 year ago today (Pretty sure) since the US dealers were told they could sell the cars..after a long CARB wait. I got mine a year ago on March 6th. Just rolled over 3k miles Saturday. Only (1 temporary ESC limp mode) quirk in first year.

Wow, congrats! You might have the longest wait time from deposit to delivery that I know of. I suffered much less in comparison, with deposit in Jan. 2023 and delivery in Nov. 2024.
