USA & Canada pricing

Something tells me it’s going to be very close to what has already been alluded to here by many. Probably not different enough to matter that much.

Its amazing.....LOTUS can come up with a cool mechanism to pull the cover off the show cars and tuck it underneath , unlike every other manufacturer that has a woman or man pull the car cover off their reveal show car,........ yet no one at LOTUS knows where to buy disposable batteries for their calculator to figure out the base V6 pricing.
You know its gonna be 60k gbp. You know what the current pricing is. Work it backwards, you aren't going to be far off

Ha ok.
60K GBP VS 65K GBP incl.VAT mean 4 200GBP difference before tax.

4200GBP = 5 775$US
5 775$US = 7 150$CAD

I4 base 96 400$CAD + 7 200$CAD = 103 600$CAD V6 BASE

With all these calculations, I think we've pretty much nailed down the price between $104-106K.

If the true competition for Lotus is the Cayman GTS, then in Canada it will come down to whether or not people think the Lotus is worth about $10K more than the Porsche. I believe both will perform very similar, so it will mostly come down to the Lotus' superior looks, exhaust note and steering feel. Are those points worth the extra $10K to the majority of people? We'll soon find out!

Forget the V6 Base price, just tell me if there will be a V6 GT4 version and at what price point :D

Gentry in toronto said we're not getting the car due to border covid restrictions.... anyone else get updates from their canadian dealers? vancouver, Halifax???

There are no border restrictions in place for cars or vaccinated people. I shipped a car up from Texas 2 months ago.

Has anyone heard from there canadIan dealer. With regards to another deposit or spec for car?

Have not heard from Vancouver dealer since placed initial deposit in the summer. Haven’t been told where I am in the order queue, nor have I been told when to expect further communications. Pretty lacklustre IMO.

Yes very quiet in Montreal took deposit and that’s it. Hopefully get some news soon. at least they sent me reciept with my position on it. apparently I’m 43 as of august 30th. Would be nice to have some info such as when to spec or when to anticipate something

Canadian dealers look like they will be confirming orders in January, as they will have more information from Lotus around that time on the number of allocations they will actually be receiving.

Canadian dealers dont even know their pricing cost yet.
Not much is going to happen until the end of the year I am affraid.
Next two months are going to be radio silence again.

Canadian dealers will receive an Emira training course mid november in New-York.

There is an unveiling for dealers in NY on Nov 5/6. Hopefully some more information after that and perhaps updates on Canadian dealer tours of the car.

Regarding the covid19 deluxe tax project for the Canadian market for 2022, I just came to realize that they were going to charge the regular sales taxs over / on top of the new deluxe tax amount. You gotta have to pay taxs on a tax. They are worse then a thief.

Example :

Emira sale price : 119 888$CAD
Transport fees : 2 800$ CAD
PDI fees : 800$ CAD
----------------------
Total : 123 488$ CAD
New 2022 Covid19 Deluxe tax : 20 % out of 23 488$ = +4 697,60$

Total before sale tax with new Deluxe tax program : 128 185,60$

Quebec sale tax / Province sale tax : 9.975% x 128 185,60$ = +12 786,51$
Canada sale tax / GST : 5% x 128 185,60$ = 6 409,28$

Total with tripple taxs : 147 381,39$ !!!

23 893,39$ of taxs or 19,33% of the car's value.

Meanwhile our friends in USA are going to pay 6%-9% out of 96 500$ = 5 800$ to 8 685$ for a total bill to the door of 103K-105K.

I’m just hoping the manual with black pack comes in at under 125 before taxes. If not, here in BC we have *another* luxury tax above that price, on top of the federal one, and regular taxes…

Help.

I dont see how you could stay under 125K to be honest if the deluxe tax is voted.

Without :
119 888$CAD +2500$CAD ( 2000$US) transport fees + PDI 800$CAD + 1969$CAD black pack option = 125 157$.

They could sell the car to you 124 999$ to stay under just like Arthur said.

But with the deluxe tax your sale tax is going to be based on 125 157 + 5 031$ ( 20% x 25 157 ) = 130 188$ before sales taxs...

In Canada we pay the transport fees in double. We pay the 2200$US to get the car from UK to USA just like the American does 93 900$USD + 2 200$USD = 96 100$USD = 119K CAD + canadian customs border fees = 119 888$.

We are then charged another time 2000$US from our canadian dealer to cover the transport fees from USA to Canada.

I could be wrong, but I believe the 125k rule is before taxes are factored in. I don’t think the new federal deluxe tax would affect it.

I think the only way would be, as you say, for Arthur and the dealer to be willing to let it go under 125 to accommodate that. It would make a big difference in my decision.
