Wiper speed issue

Have had a recall letter through this morning for the wiper motors. Booked in to get fixed on the 14th, fingers crossed for no rain between now and then 😜

The letter says it's cars built up to 21/3/2023, so mine must have been one of the last to have the faulty motor. Shame they didn't replace it in the three months between build and collection but oh well
I also received the same letter this morning

Yes I got letter as well - not sure how they can deem it as a "non-safety" issue though going on some of the comments of people who have experience the problem first-hand

Yeah I chuckled at the "non" safety note, I've had experience of it, driving in pretty damn bad rain, had to slow to down to be able to be confident in driving the car since my view out was pretty obscured by the rain in-between the slow wipes, it wasn't very pleasant

Had my letter ref Wiper motor today, but I had received a call couple weeks prior from Central Lotus, goes in for that and a couple of other recall/issues/code update, plus oil change. now just of 3months old, just over 3000 miles. Still loving and smile

I have had the wiper motor changed already but I still got the letter today. Good to know everyone affected is getting contacted.

Mine arrived today too. The dealers will be busy soon!
I've been told that the wiper recall letter was actually meant to be a recall letter for other things. In my case it should have been for seat belts. The belts have already been replaced.
It's part of a flurry of communication I've had from Lotus recently.

In the past 5 days, I've had that recall letter, that was wrong, I've had two emails abbot the London show room, the first with the ##FIRSTNAME## ##LAST NAME## error, then another a few hours later with my first name written twice instead of my surname, then another email urging my to hurry up and complete my order as prices are going up soon. I took delivery in the 6th December.

At least we know it's not just the cars we're test subjects for!

This is... I can't... what in the chicken fried F...???

Do they have marketing interns doing critical legal/regulatory communications? What kind of organization (of any kind) would allow this sort of unprofessional gap in competence?

I got my wiper recall letter today, but it is already booked in for 14/8/23 for another issue (after a ten week wait!)
I thought it was amusing that after all the effort of 'rebranding' to Lotus retailers and Lotus Service centres during the launch of the Emira that the letter mentions getting your car booked in at your local Lotus dealer and uses the term 'Lotus dealer' several times.

I am sure that the writer of the letter has not experienced the wiper fault in heavy rain, if they had, they would have not said it was non safety critical. It is downright dangerous if you get caught in heavy rain on a road with nowhere safe to pull over.

The irony is not lost of me of a 2 year wait for the Emira and after delivery experiencing what is looking like the wettest summer weather on record and the windscreen wipers don't work properly.

got my letter too.
it will go in for that, the fuel level sensor and whatever else breaks this summer, as soon as the weather starts to look like it needs road salt

Got my wiper letter today, along with one for A pillar trim that needs tethering, apparently the airbag can dislodge it and thats not good!

Are these listed on vsic.lotuscars.com under the recall section? I checked my VIN and have no recalls coming up for mine.

I’ve had a recall letter too for the A pillar trim for cars manufactured between 31/05/22 to 10/05/23

The wiper motor is just down as a recall , the a pillar is a safety recall .

Quick update: I took my Emira in for a new wiper motor yesterday, and it's now working fine. Got them to also check the oil level after 2500 miles and it was fine, they also completed a health check and there were no issues. I mentioned the hill-hold issue and cold-start stalling to them after seeing it on this forum, and they said they had noticed it on one of their demo cars but they couldn't tell me any more about if/when there's any fix planned. I use my car as a daily driver and haven't experienced either of these issues so am wondering if they are mostly occurring on cars with very occasional use only...

It seems that way since both times it happened to me it was after a few days of being parked in the garage. The garage itself is underground so absolutely level and steady environment. Pretty sure it's the fuel pump, as others have guessed already.
