I have given up on 2022 for my car , i have never received any updates unless i emailed first. It seems odd, I was told I was one of the first 20-30 deposits. But I know it's all been re-sequenced based on parts supply. Maybe including Homelink and tracker has pushed it later - chip supplies? They won't tell me why it's a bigger delay than other people.
Perhaps it's payback for being so vocal about the terrible customer service
My car is fully loaded and has slipped from August to September, now October so I assume all those sparky carbon wafer thingies are an issue. It seems odd, I was told I was one of the first 20-30 deposits. Yes and it looks like only going to people in the first 1-3 delivery months. I've seen people now with Sept, Oct and Nov build months but not beyond. And I don't see anyone with an i4 deposit having been contacted. So this recent burst of e-mails is for UK only, correct?
They must be going out in batches - my early i4 delivery was previously advised Jan build/Feb delivery with last slippages but is now just generic “2023” on today’s email……Yes and it looks like only going to people in the first 1-3 delivery months. I've seen people now with Sept, Oct and Nov build months but not beyond. And I don't see anyone with an i4 deposit having been contacted.
EU dealers had a briefing last week and US dealers have a Zoom call with Lotus today, so I expect those dealers will send updates to customers today or this week. Gator Motorsport said yesterday they would post their customer update on here after they send it out.
There are some large groups of deposit holders in the UK and non-UK who are not getting an email - not clear yet if that will follow for them with more info.
I got my email with "Your Emira is estimated to be produced in 2023 and we will confirm a production and delivery timing very early in the year". Last I heard from Customer Services was December build and January delivery.Yes and it looks like only going to people in the first 1-3 delivery months. October build for me too so delivery presumably November, in which case I would rather defer until the spring. Anyone know if this is actually possible? Would they not just send you to the back of the queue as with spec changes?
I am going to give this the sleep test and see how I feel in the morning. I wanted to change something on spec (calliper colour) and was warned it would delay build to ‘early 2023’. As I’ve just been pushed to October build/November delivery (from Sep/Oct) I’m really struggling to see a reason not to do it. I actually feel a bit sorry for the scheduling team, I expect they’re about to get a lot of calls..October build for me too so delivery presumably November, in which case I would rather defer until the spring. Yeah I loved that firmly locked in statement...Ooh yes. Me too!!
Production now October too… was September last time I spoke to them
And “firmly locked in”?!!
Tom realistically will Lotus let us defer our cars to Spring ? Let’s face it they not very accommodating. My enthusiasm for this car is well and truly waning driven by Lotus as a company how I have felt in this extremely long never ending journey. I will wait until test drive until I make any decisions but getting a car in winter doesn’t excite me at all. Mind you could ask to change brake calliper colour and I’ll be 2023 anywayI think a lot of people will be reflecting on things based on this news and possible concerns this may not be the last of the delays, despite what Lotus are saying in this email about their level of confidence. Seems a similar level of confidence to when senior Lotus people looked me in the eye at Goodwood and said they had a high level of confidence I'd get my car in September or possibly late August.
I'm wondering whether I'll really get the use of my Emira in November and over the winter, so maybe defer until the Spring and run the Evora as my weekend fun car on nice days.
Part of the excitement was getting one of the very early cars and it now looks like I'm pushed into Month 2. Still early but not what I'd hoped for when I demonstrated my faith and loyalty by putting a deposit down before the car even had a name.
I'd recommend everyone do what I'm doing, which is to think about what to do but not act in haste.
Well don't look for a used GT4, Spyder or Mclaren as we are all on the hunt now... Or a California T for me .So I have gone from Spring, June, July, August and now October build.
Just don’t get what is going on anymore - something is seriously wrong with production.
How can I get told to my face at Goodwood it is August build and now October.
There must be some major supplier issue on a key part of the build.
The worst part is I had my spec locked in May but someone has posted an email offering them a chance to change for November build???
As TomE has said don’t act in haste but now seriously considering cancelling.
Just swap it out for a Base car.Tom realistically will Lotus let us defer our cars to Spring ? Let’s face it they not very accommodating.
