Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

Are they trying to entice you into a change, so your delivery will be pushed back! I don’t understand here thinking and i agree it’s so confusing.

I sent an email on this subject on Sunday 21/8 but have not received any form of clarification from LCS. After being locked in to my spec since early this year. Why are they dangling the carrot for a change. Don’t get it.
I received an email today saying that as I didn’t “lock in” the other day, I have now missed the November/December delivery. I have been pushed back to sometime in 2023 when they reschedule.

All I wanted was a test drive.

I have been a priority customer for 16 months, was going to pick up if happy in November/December. Another 4 months of waiting, having been locked in all this time.
Now due to a communication with Lotus Customer Services - they have dropped me out of the queue.
Well 50 years of supporting the brand and this is how I have been treated. Who are these people. I guess I will be asking for my £5000 deposit back.

Just received a phone call from Lotus, advising a new build slot for Nov with delivery Dec 2022 (deposit paid 26/07/2021) have been told I can change whatever I like and my slot should not be affected, great news....wasn't expecting that, might just delete Homelink, change Callipers and wheels.. maybe?! I will be then locked in from tomorrow. Strange things going on at Hethel????

Maybe due to a bunch of cancellations? Either way, that's great news you can change some specs! Now only if FE buyers could spec base colors without delaying delivery. ;)

I guess the fact Lotus are allowing changes for these "bumped" customers is in someway a sweetener to get them to move forward, as perhaps some dont want to, especially for December mid winter delivery. Even though you would think its sweet enough the fact they ARE being moved forward. It would also imply to me, the opposite of what I had just written elsewhere, that they are VERY confident of getting ALL parts in very soon as otherwise there is no way in hell or heaven they would be offering this last minute change to spec.
.

I am passed / pissed caring now to be honest, but its quite amazing that us early depositors have had to lock in about 6 months ago, not allowed even to change tyres, never mind anything else, and others who are being bumped up to almost join us, can change none major things, where none major are most likely things apart from Colour and Transmission I would guess..... Im happy for the bumpers, truly I am, but its crazy.
.

I agree with the comment above, which I have made before, the whole mess stops with one person..... I'm sorry, but the way things continue to go is laughable and as stated above too, its not going to change this year, even when you get your 30 day call.I REALLY HOPE I DONT regret sticking in there with Lotus as they continue to behave as if this is their first ever car and first ever customers and first time they have even ran a business, during the 30 day period and beyond that, ie when I get my car. I have to say my doubts about this purchase are now creeping beyond this pre-sales mess and heavily into after sales and thats going to be FAR FAR MORE FRUSTRATING than this ever has been.

So many being bumped.... I think for the 1st time there are now many walking away, and not just temporarily to avoid the winter delivery times.
You mean locked in 9 months ago!
Bonkers

That's ridiculous. I thought they'd said your current spec would automatically lock in on the deadline date, unless you actively confirmed it or requested a change. Saying you haven't locked in so bad luck, you go to the back of the queue is terrible service.

I never received an email about automatically locking in my spec at this deadline date, just a telephone call, which didn’t go well. I stated I wanted to test drive first, which are imminent hopefully, but that looks likely to slip.
I bought a new car in 2003 - untested and picked it up, it was awful - sold within 6 months with a huge loss. I vowed never to buy a car again without a test. Due to this Sport/Tour and previous gearbox noise issue- is it wrong to have a test drive before full commitment?
I emailed them for clarification and their response is as selected paragraph.

Test drives will be available early September. As soon as the demonstrators have been received by the Lotus centers, we will commuicate this out to all customers.

As you did not wish to lock in your order for November production, your order has been moved to 2023. Once we have a build schedule for 2023 in place, we will communicate a more accurate delivery estimation for 2023 customers.

Surely they can see this is just a communication oversight and give you your place back - that’s ridiculous and there quite a few people being bumped forward

I must be just an awkward sod. I have absolutely upset the guy on the phone and my subsequent email took 4 days for a reply.

That is terrible by LCC. You might not have been able to hold your spec open, but you should have had your spec committed into build and then been offered a test drive before the 30 day period, at which point you could cancel and get a refund or request a change with a possible delay.

Most emails currently take 4+ days to get a reply.

Hi Tom

This is my email to LCS last Sunday - I thought I was locked in since early 2022.

I am really confused, you say no one called to talk about updates on my order, but I received another call from I think “Lauren” who stated that I needed to confirm my order straight away or there was no guarantee my car which has a locked in specification since early this year and was to be delivered in June, then July, then August, then September and is now going to be manufactured for a November or December delivery!

Throughout this entire process I have not changed specification, apart from the caveat that I wished to drive a car to check gearbox and chosen suspension (sport) to confirm I was happy with the chosen specification. unfortunately, Lotus have not been able to supply dealers with cars for this to happen, I contacted my dealer and they do not know when they will receive a car for test drives.

After a test drive if I was happy with the chosen Specification then I would be very pleased to receive the car at the earliest. However, if not there was the option to change and a rescheduled delivery in early 2023 would be accepted.

Is this still the case? as I feel there seems a move by Lotus that I don’t understand. After, waiting at this time 16 months, with a further potential 3-4 months on top of that, to be pressurised on the phone to “Lock my specification in for the factory” doesn’t sound right, as that has always been the case!

I suppose in these days supply and manufacturing issues, early depositors (priority customers) have been patient with this moving delivery schedules, but apart from the odd telephone call from Alex and yourself Sharon, I have never received an email advising me of a revised delivery date, it has been my contact with Lotus Customer Services, and your response advising me delayed delivery. This cannot be right.

Please advise was is going on?

Best Regards

Sorry to say this but Matt needs a kick up the rear to get customer service and comms sorted. Buck stops with him.

The all care and no responsibility approach is getting boring. Geely, please get involved and sort this out. It’s not hard.
It begs the question, does Geely know what is going on?

Sorry if I have mistaken this thread but I have paid £2K then £3k to lock in my build spec. I have a confirmation email with a link to my build that I can go on and see my car on the configurator. Also had latest email stating I'm an October build.

Am I missing something

I’m the same as Vision , paid the initial £2k , was then invited to spec the car and lock it in with a further £3k , and to be fair to Lotus I have had several calls and emails updating me along the way confirming Oct build and a good hour with them at Goodwood FOS , no complaints really , like everyone else I would have liked the car for the summer but hey ho what can you do , but patiently wait ?

Received my 1/18 Seneca Blue model today , within 48 hrs of ordering it from Silverstone , at least Lotus are selling something 😂
Always good service from Lotus Silverstone. And as I understand it, other Lotus Centres. I think I would be a different story if dealing with Lotus HQ.

Twice since June I've been told less than 3 weeks before my delivery month that it's delayed by 6-8 weeks. Most recently I've been told my delivery isn't going to be per my deposit date and in the first 20 cars in month 1, but somewhere in #150-400 in month 2.

Lotus refuse to give any explanation why I'm delayed more than other people and will only say "delayed parts related to your specification". People with identical specifications and deposits placed 3+ months after me are getting cars 1-2 months before me. OK, so supply chains are a mess and it's only a car and it's only another month. But I don't feel like I'm being treated like a customer, let alone a "priority customer". And I certainly don't believe any statements made by Lotus about when anything is going to happen.

So please excuse this ambassador for eating all the Ferrero Rocher, glugging all the champagne and ditching the uniform :)

I asked again for an explanation of my situation, having been given a generic "everyone is delayed and some more than others" response on the phone and then a week later by email. I asked why I was delayed more than others with similar specs, why pre-reveal depositors appeared more delayed, where I now stood in the delivery sequence, and could I delete or change whatever was causing the extra delay. I also asked for info on timing of test drives and how I could drive both suspensions if dealers only had one demo car, timing for publication of Base specs/pricing, and confirmation of the new emissions figures and other technical information.

Here is the response from Customer Care:

"As you know, we do not comment on the various online forums, as these are not Lotus official communication channels. We are focused on one on one customer communication. When we have information, our customer base will receive it as soon as possible.

We cannot give details on specific car delay causes but only that there are delays, each customer car is unique, and we are working hard to get them built and delivered as soon as possible. Due to the forever changing situation, we will not be commenting on build queues or customer order numbers. Specs and pricing for Emira Base and Eletre will be released in due course, again, when we have the information to share we will.

We are hoping to be able to share updates on test drives soon and look forward to getting customers behind the wheel of the Lotus Emira."

I don't want to act hastily but I'm not feeling as much excitement about the car when this is the customer "experience" involved in getting one. I'll hold on for a test drive before making a decision. Off to look at McLarens in the meantime. People posting about old Elans has also got me thinking.

Well said Tom, I think we are on the same page on this. On Saturday I will be visiting my local Porsche dealer to see what is available. Like you I will have a test drive and make a decision.

Looks like they were taking a dig at forum members... I am guessing they don't appreciate us at the moment ...
